| Is ECNL moving to school year in 2025/2026 season? I have a currently U12 kid who could be impacted. |
You going to have to reread the question to have an accurate response. |
No. To summarize all 100+ pages. This is all speculated on rumors and nonsensical replies. -Camp 1 will say anything to make people believe this is true and happening by perpetuating rumors and fabricating proof. -Camp 2 will say anything to make people believe this is not true and refute everything posted by Camp1. -Camp 3 tries to inject logic, but they are quickly out-posted by Camp 1 and then out-posted by Camp 2 refuting Camp 1 posts. -Camp 4 are casual posters who see there are so many posts, then think this must be true. Don't fall into Camp 4, this is what Camp 1 posters want. There is absolutely zero evidence this will change next year or in the near future. But this thread has a lot of action. In fact, this post will be attacked and overwhelmed by so many posts, that this time next week, it will be buried 10 pages deep. |
Not all heroes wear capes
|
| Zero evidence ? This is being discussed by the major organizations for club soccer. Not sure it will happen but this is a discussion happening in the soccer community in general. |
The only communication about switching to SY was done my ECNL in a podcast. No other leagues have commented. |
Ok, your in Camp 2. |
Not sure of you know this but the president of ECNL who said “it's more likely to happen then not”. He works for us club soccer as well as their vice president of strategic affairs. So when he talks he knows the conversations that are being had not just at ECNL but on a broader soccer landscape. Also he did not guarantee this was going to happen but also said everyone agrees a one time disruption of teams is worth it for the long term benefit of youth players |
You may now proceed to Camp #2. |
|
From a friend of mine who is on the board for one of the bigger soccer governing bodies.
“Part of leadership is evaluating the current situation to determine the best path forward for the players and being openminded to change”. So this is definitely being discussed internally. |
| I also heard on ticktock |
| The tech director for my club said this is happening. Final vote in November. We should have confirmation soon. |
Fact: This change is being discussed among multiple governing bodies within youth soccer. Fact: ECNL explicitly wants this change. Fact: An official vote in November will likely determine the outcome. Opinion: Will this result in a change in youth age groupings? No clue. If I were a betting man I would put the over under at 65% yes. But to say there is no evidence of a change is a blatant falsehood. Proceed to stealth group 2. |
I don’t think Tech directors really know anything for certain. As a definite position has not been decided. But it sounds like this will happen but we will find out soon enough. |
So someone from ECNL says that they want SY. Yawn.... Wake me up when other leagues comment. |
