U.S. Soccer will continue to monitor other Organization Members’ decisions and post those decisions once confirmed. We are also continuing to work with the Youth Council to capture frequently asked questions (FAQs) received from membership, parents / guardians, clubs, and leagues and will make them available once consolidated.

The team below her is not good (~150 ranked) but there are no other clubs that work for our specific situation, so there are girls that are going to get short end of the stick out there.

Your daughter sounds like a phenom! Top 3 player on a top 25 team nationally!? You have solid options. If she's one of the best players on her team I doubt the club wouldn't want her to play up, even with some girls added for consideration due to the age change.

The other possibility is that the not so good team a year down becomes vastly better with new players.

The reality is no matter what the age range formation, kids will still be placed with other comparably skilled players.

I find the obsession with rankings in this country as absolute non-sense. How do you even rank teams in a way to makes sense?

“Top 25 team” and “top 3 player” has zero significance in the short, medium, or long term.

The Europeans and South Americans don’t obsess over idiotic rankings and they totally kill is on the pitch.

The truth is our women’s side was dominant because other countries could have cared less above that side of the game. As women’s soccer has gained popularity in the gap has closed significantly. We are now just another good team not the dominant best team in years past.

Just becasue you dont understand math and statistics you dont have to point it out to the broader audience. Go to the Soccer Rankings app. The higher rated team beats the lower rated team in that app at a greater than 80% rate, ties excluded.

You’re reading too much into the statement. The parent is just trying to describe the situation their child is in… top player on a very strong team. That’s it.

Thank goodness we now know why the Europeans and South Americans are better than the US in soccer. It is our obsession over rankings! Is this just for soccer? Or do we not obsess over rankings in basketball? So stupid…………

Partly true but soccer doesnt have the same competition from baseball, hockey, football, basketball that the men’s side has either I dont think.

What is really worrying is that more kids play tennis and golf than soccer as a core sport in the US. And soccer participation is dropping. Latest statistics I have seen is it down 5.5% since 2022.
