US Attacks Libya

The US has launched cruise missiles against several targets in Libya. Hopefully it won't take 10 years to resolve this little affair.

Edit: BTW, today's attack probably cost upwards of $100 million. Remember that when your school starts making budget cutbacks.

I guess we were attacked by Libya unless liberals are totally full of crap they will go nuts over this. I got to admit even I didnt realize how appropriate every single thing Bush did was the right thing.

I call B.S. on this reasoning. This is humanitarian intervention against somebody attacking and brutally killing his own people! Bush went into Iraq supposedly because they attacked us and had weapons of mass destruction (don't forget we were told they were part of 9/11 and had stockades of earth shattering weapons). Libya has nothing to do with the Bush Doctrine.

Hussien gassed his own people and mass murdered citizens and buried them in mass graves. He also violated the terms of surrender of the 1st gulf war and broke all UN directives. additionally he had an assassination plan for gw bush. Much more reason to attack than this BS.

I knew Bush was right. Than you Obama for attacking a country that didn't attack us...just like Bush. Using a surge ....just like Bush. Keeping guantanimo open...just like Bush. Keeping 50000 forces in Iraq...just like Bush. Calling for more oil drilling and admitting global warming is not a dire threat and probably doesn't exist. He gassed his own people in the 80's when Reagan was in power and wanted to keep him as our friend. Take that up with the Gipper.

Wow, that is nice revisionist history. When he was running for President in 2000, Bush wanted us out of the NATO run Bosnian peace-keeping effort. But please, don't let that get in the way of you blathering on. Maybe you are too young to remember politics from 11 years ago.

Unfortunately this doesn't factor into this particular conversation. You want to talk about whether we should have intervened in Iraq for humanitarian reasons then that's a different conversation. But lets not pretend that Bush invaded Iraq for this purpose. Again I will say that Bush explicitly and openly invaded Iraq because of supposed ties to 9/11 and supposed weapons of mass destruction. Both of these things were proven false. Hence the concept of the Bush Doctrine. And regardless of how much you hate Obama, it's profoundly telling about your character that you were refer to a dictator slaughtering his own people as "this BS."

I think it's weird that he has the same policies as Bush and talked about change. I don't think he even thought about anything he was talking about in the campaign. He is making Bush look like his teacher. It proves that Democrats were only political and small when they protested and tried to hamstring and demoralize our troops mission. Why aren't they doing that now. We are more engaged than ever.

Bush was right to go into Iraq, and Obama was right to go against Libya. the fact that Libya should be easier and cheaper is because of the invasion of Iraq and the spur of revolutions it caused.
