It’s a pandemic and she has unvaccinated kids.

She was just at a packed sports stadium for back-to-back Wimbledon and Euro Cup match with-and-without her unvaccinated child. More like she + William just got back from a long overseas vacation for weeks (his deep tan gives him away). Not ruling anything else out either but this is their vacation time.

I think this is all it is. They are usually “off” late July through early September.

They're usually photographed on their way to, or even at, Balmoral though. Plus first day of school photos with the kids, which they've announced they're not doing this year for some reason.

I think she's going to turn up pregnant with #4. Probably hoping for a sister for Charlotte.

They've been quieter about things like vacations and Balmoral for the whole year. Maybe because of Covid. Anyway they did go to Balmoral with the kids for a week in like August. As for the first day photos, I'm convinced they don't want the public to realize that all three kids are in full-time private school now. Louis started the same school as the older kids last year and there were no photos. Hard to explain what Kate (and William if we want to be equal opportunity) are doing with all their time if their kids are gone 6 hours out of the day.

And its not like the Royal Rota isn't begging for the opportunity for special photos - they've been publicly crying on twitter about going broke in the last two years.

Kate fan girls have excused their work shy ways because they have small kids. But if you have three kids at school and nanny Maria what is the excuse? I’ll be even more curious what they come up with when they ship George off to boarding school next year.

She can choose to work or not. As much or as little as she likes. It’s fun to see that drive you haters crazy.

No, she can’t choose to work or not. That’s literally her role in the family. She needs to increase the workload.

According to who, you? 😂

DP. What do you think QEII means when she differentiates between working and non-working royal?

So you're gleefully waiting for the Queen to turn Kate on her ear because she doesn't meet your standards of 'work'? I hope you have a lot of patience.

I wonder if PP is the resident Canadian who just can't wrap her around the fact that Americans have no reason to care about how often or little Kate works. Americans care about the weddings, jewels, clothes, etc. They don't pay for any of it and have zero vested interest beyond the superficial aspects. It would make little difference to Americans if the royal family ceased to exist. I don't spend a lot of time on Canadian message boards complaining about uniquely American problems. I wonder why she posts here?

DP. Perhaps because this thread is about the BRF and Canada does have a much more relevant perspective on all of this than we Americans do. You may not view Kate's work ethic as being particularly relevant to your American view of the BRF, but obviously citizens of countries whose tax dollars support the BRF have a different perspective.

Canadian here. Yes, I don't want tax dollars going to support the BRF any more. There are many of us who feel this way.

But clearly this is a minority opinion, otherwise Canada, which is a democracy (stronger than ours at the moment) would have left the Commonwealth. It hasn’t.

According to this, a minority of Canadians care to part ways with the monarchy. While they don't really support it if asked, they can't be bothered to change it. So our Canadian poster probably can't find enough Canadians to agree with her tantrum about the tax situation so she's pressing her luck here, as if Americans care about her taxes. Why doesn't she implore her fellow citizens to get off their collective asses and be the change instead of boring us here with something her own fellow citizens don't care about? Not to mention none of this mentions Kate's work ethic at all. I think most people who understand the monarchy don't obsess over Kate's role, a married in, over the blood royals. Why does she get all the heat?

Yeah, you don’t understand Americans. Most Americans believe in work ethic. The idea of living solely off of inherited wealth and having an inherited title makes us uncomfortable, unless you put in a bare minimum effort to prove yourself worthy.

I’m the one who posted about Kate’s poor public speaking skills upthread. I mean, they’re shockingly bad. She doesn’t have a stutter or other speech deficiency. She just doesn’t care to improve a key required skill for her role. Public speaking is an acquired skill. You’re not born with it. So what if she’s shy and introverted? She can put in the effort to do the equivalent of Toastmasters. She can spend a few hours rehearsing and memorizing what she’s going to say before a public engagement. That’s what the rest of us do. Nobody’s asking her to be an Obama-level orator, just to do a passable job. But she clearly could give a rat’s a** because it’s not like anyone is going to take her title anyway. As an American I have zero respect for someone like that. Though I’m sure she could care less about my opinion

You really do not get it. The entire point is that people in Canada have loyalty to the Queen, much less so the others. We are discussing what will happen in the future, not the state of affairs now. But whatever, you can stick your head in the sand the way the younger BRF does. We will see who is right in 15 to 20 years.

Well the other thing is that most of their wealth is not inherited, it’s commonwealth money. So they do need to earn it.

The arrangement is complicated (and brilliant) but it's still their money.

What they need to earn is their continued existence. And Barbados aside, the only reason that people think that Charles won't be king, or that George won't be king, is speculation. The British Royal Family includes the queen, who is beloved, and the entire institution, which is also beloved.

YOU don't get it. I really don't care if they survive or not. Just here for the jewels, photos, and sometimes a wedding. Stick my head in the sand? Oh the drama about something that has zero impact on me either way. Most people really don't care about them in the way you seem to.

Well the Queen as a monarch is beloved. As a woman and mother physically shielding a pedophile - not so much.

Because if I see this thread pop up I wonder what's new. And it's just the Kate spreadsheet loser and the bitter Meghan fans complaining as usual. It's like a soap opera, but focusing on the taxes and time sheets is boring AF.

You really do not get it. The entire point is that people in Canada have loyalty to the Queen, much less so the others. We are discussing what will happen in the future, not the state of affairs now. But whatever, you can stick your head in the sand the way the younger BRF does. We will see who is right in 15 to 20 years.

YOU don't get it. I really don't care if they survive or not. Just here for the jewels, photos, and sometimes a wedding. Stick my head in the sand? Oh the drama about something that has zero impact on me either way. Most people really don't care about them in the way you seem to.

American here - I care. Discussing the geopolitical and historical impact of this is top notch entertainment.

By the way they haven’t had any jewels and tiaras in two years, so why are you here?

Because if I see this thread pop up I wonder what's new. And it's just the Kate spreadsheet loser and the bitter Meghan fans complaining as usual. It's like a soap opera, but focusing on the taxes and time sheets is boring AF.

Sorry no update for you. No state dinners scheduled for this year either. I’d check back in 2022 - as long as the Queen doesn’t die in which the whole schedule is off through a fourth year.

They’ve even got anti-monarchy billboards in Wales.

“I know she is very happy,” he added. “We keep our fingers crossed for them.”

That’s just how Europeans talk. They are not effusive the way Americans are.

I thought it was sweet. Non-committal too. Better than what Eugenie's GMIL said about her own grandson

"I never thought he would get married to a royal. He's a charming boy and all that but not the most intelligent..."

Pictures of their wedding outfit released and its bad. I thought this was their next-day brunch get-up.

Hair with extremely old highlights, bad makeup, no guests, and a $10 dress. Why wait 2 years when they could have done this from the beginning?

And I thought Beatrice's wedding was bad. This one was worse.
