It’s not playing down at all. It is playing within a year cutoff window. It’s not like the Biobanding BS that Mlsn pulls where they deviate past the 12 month cutoff (I.e cheating)

For the billionth time MLSN exists to identify players for MLS Acadamies. If you're not playing up and dominating against older players you wont get a spot on an Academy team. In the Academy world biobanders are crash test dummies. Nobody cares if you win by playing down because you'll never get selected to play at the next level on an Academy team.

MLSN P2P exists as fodder and so MLSN academies can scrape funds to pay for their free academies. Players get identified and pulled from outside MLSN so identification in MLSN ecosystem isn't needed.

I think you missed thr point. It doesn't matter where MLS Acadamies identify talent. I can promise you the one player type that wont be identified is biobanders. Until they start playing against players their own age.

GA “could” stay BY but they are not. Trish the commish said they will have to go to SY with all the others. Yes, I’m that person

Kids can always play up, obviously, but they cant play down. So your kid has options. Play up and be young but with same grade or play with age group and be older. Not sure what the problem is.

Honestly, I am just glad it is no longer just the Sept kids (in local counties with a 9/30 cutoff) who are in this boat. Everyone poo pooed me when I raised concerns for my own child in that situation. But I now know many others who are affected. So we can all be affected together.

That’s what we’re hoping. She’s a 2012 and 5’10”. We are finally getting to the point where other girls are matching her physically. I’d hate for her to fall back a year for size and speed. You’re not developing if you’re not getting challenged.

Might be hard to get on a grade-level A team in this situation. If the player is any good, there'd likely be pressure to play with Aug-July group, despite whatever the player or parents prefer. At the same time, an August birth month in Sept. 1 cutoff states will be an ongoing headache for clubs as those parents will constantly lobby for what they want.
