Lipstick for Those Afraid of Lipstick?

I never wear lipstick as I think it looks silly and clownish on me, and I can't be bothered to check a mirror every hour to make sure it still looks good. I was convinced by a nice saleslady to try Laura Mercier's sheer lip color in Plum last spring. To my surprise, I loved it: it was a little shiny, very sheer, and a nice pinky brown color. I could put it on without looking in a mirror and know that it looked right.
Of course, the company had to go an discontinue that product. So does anyone have any recommendations for a new product to try out? Something in stick form, since applying lip glosses and balms is always a messy business for me. I tried Laura Mercier's Tender Lips sheer lip color, the closest approximation of the Plum, and I hate it. Too rosy and matte. |

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey (although I think that is the ONLY color they still make in it). Looks fabulous on everyone.
Neutrogena MoistureShine LipSheer: has a good SPF. Burt's Bees has some sort of lip balm with color in it. I currently adore the Rhubarb. |

Clinique Chubby Sticks or Different Lipstick in Tenderheart or Guava Stain
Tarte Lipsurgence line (there's matte and luster versions) Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm (in the black tube) I love Clinique's Black Honey but it's actually a lot of color. |

I love the color and how it's sheer, but mine got kind of goopy. I wasn't able to put it on without a mirror because sometimes there's be a gloppy bit that got on my lips. I wish they'd make it more firm. I like Burt's Bees tinted lip balm. That's something I can put on without needing a mirror. |

i like burt's bees tinted balm as well. recently picked up a similar product at WF called "hemp organics lip tint." i like the berry color. |

or, you could just smear crushed berries on your lips and call it a day.
