Two reasons. 1) Because they can. They get away with it. 2) Because they get a bonus for each person they bring in. They are basically hunting humans for the bounty they will get - they don't care about public relations or pushback from the city or citizens because they aren't being held accountable. They want to meet their quota. I have no idea how much they are being rewarded for each person, but say it is $200 per body. Every time a person slows them down or gets in their way, that's money out of their pockets. They likely aren't from a well off background, and really could use the money. I think this is why they get so mad when someone interferes. They surely can't believe that all the people they are arresting are dangerous criminals. That grandpa they dragged out into the snow with no clothes on? The 12 year old walking home from school? They want the $$$ |
Several Republican Senators are calling for an investigation (joint federal and state) into Pretti’s death. Not as many as one would like to see given that a peaceful VA nurse has been killed, right after a peaceful mother of 3 was killed, but it’s a start. |
|
“The unjust killing of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old nurse in Minneapolis, marks a turning point in President Donald Trump’s second term. His mass deportation campaign has been a moral and political failure, leaving American citizens feeling outraged and unsafe.”

They are even using hunting tactics.
When you hunt your prey, you are going to hang out wherever they have to gather - down by the river where they will be taking a drink, for example. That's why ICE are circling the schools and hospitals. Immigrants are hiding in their houses now and not going out as much as possible;. But they WILL take their kids to the hospital and they will take them to school. So that's where they are hiding out. They are PISSED that the PTA moms have started driving the kids to and from school, and are going to the grocery store to feed the immigrants who are hiding I'm sure they haven't been able to meet their performance metrics as a result, and I am sure that will impact them financially. ICE are scum of the earth but they are human, and they want their money. If someone is slowing them down, they won't get their money. That's why they are so angry and so violent. Your regular cops at a protest don't have any finances on the line. In fact they'd prefer to keep their jobs and get their pension. They don't want to have an altercation with a protestor that will be reported, and investigated, may drag them into a lawsuit and hurt their chances for promotion. ICE aren't worried about any of that - no investigations, no worry about lawsuits, they won't be disciplined or lose any pension. They want their payout this week. |
This is why they want to do door to door no warrant checks. They won’t come out of the house. |
If your protests blocks the traffic, permits generally required. The guy was not on a sidewalk, he was in the middle of the road. That is why I asked if he obtained a permit for protesting. |
You think someone needs a permit to walk in the road for a minute? Good lord. |
It's not that kind of protest. You are thinking of the ones that are organized in advance, where people march from point A to point B. Those require permits. Protesting something in the moment is different. And sure, if he is jaywalking, that's technically illegal, and the city cops could write him a ticket. Is that what you are arguing? |

A primer for the posters who are unfamiliar with the right to protest from ACLU:
Your rights Your rights are strongest in what are known as “traditional public forums,” such as streets, sidewalks, and parks. You also likely have the right to speak out on other public property, like plazas in front of government buildings, as long as you are not blocking access to the government building or interfering with other purposes the property was designed for. Private property owners can set rules for speech on their property. The government may not restrict your speech if it is taking place on your own property or with the consent of the property owner. Counterprotesters also have free speech rights. Police must treat protesters and counterprotesters equally. Police are permitted to keep antagonistic groups separated but should allow them to be within sight and sound of one another. When you are lawfully present in any public space, you have the right to photograph anything in plain view, including federal buildings and the police. On private property, the owner may set rules related to photography or video. You don’t need a permit to march in the streets or on sidewalks, as long as marchers don’t obstruct car or pedestrian traffic. If you don't have a permit, police officers can ask you to move to the side of a street or sidewalk to let others pass or for safety reasons. |
You are trying so, so hard to blame the victim. |
Its definitely a both sides article, but I appreciate them saying that Owning the Libs isn’t a good PR strategy. Everyone in the country isn’t in some social media hate bubble that finds lying and contrarianism appealing. |
I can't wait until they find a parking ticket or overdue library book that they can use to justify murdering him next. |
