actually I think its more due to the allure of the titanic. and the idea of a deep sea rescue. |
No it imploded. Oxygen not a factor. |
Agree. I had a high school friend who was lost at sea and not a trace was found of her boat. |
| If thete was an implosion, wouldn't their Real Time Health Monitoring system have picked up on it? |
The article says Landing frame and rear cover. |
I think it is partially the allure of the Titanic, and possibly the fact that it would have been an awful way for them to die to be trapped in that little thing for days. |
Seems like a normal question from anybody who knows little of the Titanic. Maybe she also wonders why so many people care about five guys in a mini-sub. You could explain to her about billionaire thrill seekers. |
|
BBC says debris was from the Titan. They’ve identified landing frame and rear cover. |
Thanks for the levity. 😂 |
Yes, but PP was complaining that the French ROVs took too long. My point is that if this was a company that had a good risk management function, they would have had their own ROV. If it were my company, I would have had ROVs following the sub. |
We know. Point being after the oxygen runs out there is zero hope of rescuing. There was hope up until that point, but not after. We are after that point so no need to dance around the fact that this ended tragically. |
And because of the Titanic. That tragedy has captured the imagination of generations and James Cameron brought it vividly to life in his blockbuster. There is a touring exhibit that has items recovered from the Titanic. This will just add to the lore. |
I feel like your the mom who always comes in 10 minutes late with the breaking news |
According to that lawsuit, the real time hull health monitoring system monitored stress on the structural integrity of the hull and reported to the people inside of the submersible when it was about to crack, about a millisecond before it would happen. Not sure what good it was ever supposed to do - you get to hear a beep right before you die? |
No bc they lost all contact |
