Here’s the run down for ECNL for 26/27.

9/1 cut offs U13-U17

essentially GY for U18/19 Seniors in high school.

GY showcases for U16-19
9/1 showcases U13-15
Nationals will be based off 9/1 until U19.

The same thing happened with this thread back in July of 2024.

That’s what I was thinking as well. Just have to have some patience. Six months from now things will be clear.

What happened was not what was declared as “going to happen.” The insider talk was all BS based on what a podcast had said was in discussion.

About 800 pages or so ago I said that we would not hear anything until after the season and maybe not until August/September. Everyone said no that cannot be. Well it is. They have a plan but it is still subject to change and they may not roll it out until GA and the others do first. There is a possibility that they offer nothing until after next season is well underway -- maybe the fall.

About 800 pages or so ago I said that we would not hear anything until after the season and maybe not until August/September. Everyone said no that cannot be. Well it is. They have a plan but it is still subject to change and they may not roll it out until GA and the others do first. There is a possibility that they offer nothing until after next season is well underway -- maybe the fall.

I agree. GA probably has decided but won’t announce anything until the current season ends mid July/August. They don’t want a distraction right before playoffs. Also gives MLS next more time to solidify their plan.

I say this and watch them announce a plan next week…

No matter what or even if a decision was made theres no advantage relaying it right now.

I'm confused by this. If i have a Q4 2009 player, who will be a junior in 26/27, will they be playing in graduation year then? They will be 17 in 2026, so not U17? This player has always been playing up with most kids a grade ahead. Will they be able to paly with the other kids in tehir grade?

They will be able to play up. BUT now they can also play with their grade. Depends on what your club wants to do if your kid still wants to play.
