You're right. Gay people never feel like they have to pretend to be heterosexual to to be able to earn a living and be accepted. Gay people never get married or go through a heterosexual relationship phase. Oh and there is no spectrum of sexuality where some people lean more gay, but try their hardest to go hetero.

Their publicist set them up! He gets thousands more followers on social media and a huge jump in book sales. (You know everyone in Jen’s “tribe” ran out to buy his book.) And he gets to hold off the gay rumors by FINALLY having a serious girlfriend. (But let’s be honest - he’s obviously gay, right?)

She gets way more social media attention (all of her “love” posts get hundreds if not thousands more likes and comments than her boring podcasts). And she gets some social justice cred. “See guys! I totally understand the black experience now! I have a BOYFRIEND!”. She also had to do something in response to Brandon’s new girlfriend. I refer to their constant posts responding “at” each other as their “pissing contest”. And he’s usually winning it. I don’t think that relationship is fake At. All. Brandon’s actually getting attention from a female. And she’s hot. Jen had to do something!

I REMEMBER SEVERAL "PROUD MOM" POSTS ABOUT IT, AND THEN... CRICKETS. JEN EVEN MENTIONED A DATE HE WAS SUPPOSEDLY SHIPPING OUT. WEIRD ON MANY LEVELS.

He was arrested for DUI last summer. Jen reposted a video on Instagram that Sydney had made with a joke about it. And arrest records are super easy to search online.

I wouldn’t expect Jen or any mom to announce that publicly. But I do think it’s BS that Jen pretends this is just his endearing personality traits. “He’s so FUNNY, and WILD, and OUT THERE!” Really? Because he sounds like an a$$hole to me….

What confounds me is that he is so overtly, extremely LGBTQ-friendly--why, if he were gay, would he bother with this charade? Wouldn't he just... come out?

I'm not saying he's not gay. I think he is (are there *any* straight men who design and sell Pride t-shirts?) At the very least, I don't think he's straight, and I don't think their relationship is genuine. Aside from my feeling that he is not straight, they seem like a mismatch in every way except for writing style and political/social justice interests. I'm willing to buy that they are close friends because they do have those things in common, but they absolutely do not give off real couple vibes.
