The LS u17 girls lost almost half their players at the end of last season. Not sure the exact reasons. They weren’t doing well to begin with and now they have to rebuild which might be too late at the u17 age group. |
PP Here. That is a good showing. I was mainly referring to the 05s. They had a good but not great team last year so I am surprised to see them lose 1-7. Losing half the team would explain the drop-off in competitiveness. |
It is too early to draw any conclusions from the first day of games. Loudoun had a good showing on Saturday, except for one team that lost 1-7. However, it is a very small sample and they played at home against one of the weaker ECNL programs. Let's revisit when the clubs have played more than onel game. At this point, no ECNL club can be written off this season or proclaimed a powerhouse. |
| Agree but FYI LS playedon the road this weekend |
| heard U17 LS lost to Courage 1-10 today. yikes! |
the sampling size is growing. So that is 2 goals for, 17 against for the 2 game weekend. |
| When a team is often defeated with +4 goals what would you change or adjust to improve? Your backline, goalkeeper, midfielders? Some of the players in these positions hardly get challenged or replaced by other players with good skills who are stuck in different positions. |
| I know the VDA tournament was friendlies but LS U17 was destroyed by MYC/VU. That is three matches against three of the top teams in the conference and none of the matches was close. This will be a long year. |
| NOVA clubs were very competitive against Carolinas this weekend. First they've played in a season and a half... fun |
Always defense. Much easier to score one goal than have to score four. Cannot concede that many goals and expect to win games. Defense is a team mentality though. Starts from the back, but everyone must fight for every ball everywhere. |
| Not many scores up yet. Anyone have results for U14 teams in NC? |
