HA! |
Yeah. Good stuff. Nothing like workload management during a year of cancelled practices and games. |
| Come back in April and let’s see what’s what... |
Pity that kids will have tried out and received offers at other ECNL clubs by then, all the while never knowing they were going to be ECNL anyway. |
| U apparently have no clue how ECNL works-official offers cannot be given until after May 1. |
| The rumor is some GA and ECNL clubs are leaving to form a new “select” league. I guess people are upset about not playing games. The new league will address too much travel and not enough games against like competition. |
| That is a very false rumor |
Nope. Heard it from the same place I heard DA was done. The top ECNL clubs do not want to waste time playing “less competitive” clubs. |
But it doesn't really make sense. How does it address "too much travel"? Top clubs are spread out across the country. They would have to travel more to play any games. |
Tell your source to take a nap. |
Have you seen Arlington 07 girls play (08 are good, 06 ok, older age groups are average)? They are middle of the pack in GAL, with few strong players. The FCV 07 girls beat them every time they play them by a lot. FCV is stronger in 07 and up age groups. I think it's funny to say FCV (or Beach FC for that) are not ECNL level. They could both easily compete and be among the top teams in ECNL in Virginia -- better than Arlington, VDA, BRYC, and McLean. |
They’re little kids. It’s not an indicator of future success or failure. Over 50 percent of those kids won’t make it past U16 ECNL |
Definitely not true. Cross team offers (from one ECNL club to another), sure, but not from external clubs. |
Yes I've seen them (ARL 07) play. They aren't good. They most certainly would lose to McLean and VDA, and beat last-place BRYC (congrats). The ECNL Beach FC is not VA Beach. People are mixing up Cali and VA. FCV could do well in ECNL across the older age groups for sure. I don't know why they won't get let in, other than "burned bridges", whatever that is referring to...... |
|
It’s not a matter of FCV being bad and that’s why they aren’t getting ECNL. It sounds political and they burned bridges when they left for the DA. Loudoun got ECNL in their geographic area so that’s that.
They haven’t performed all that stellar against local ECNL teams in recent scrimmages either-suggesting they would not be as dominant as they currently are in GA. |
