How widespread is the boycott against Goya Foods?

I bet Trump's handlers told him to say some glowing things about Trump. So pathetic. His ego knows no bounds.

Because you assume Trump voters don’t eat ethnic foods? Wow, that’s some bubble you’ve insulated yourself in.

Many Trumpsters in middle America think Taco Bell is "real ethnic food".

No, I don't think most middle America Trumpsters have ever bought Goya foods.

I am continuously amazed at how clueless people here are about the world outside of the blue bubbles. You do realize that their are tons of Latinos in red states.

Many are illegal immigrants who work on farms; some probably work in restaurants, cleaning the table for you, cooking your food. From what I understand, Trump and Trumpsters want them to leave. I wonder if Trumpsters leave tips, or write on the checks "go back to you where you came from".

You are projecting your own ugly thoughts into other people’s heads. People who live in red states aren’t cartoon characters.

You also have a romanticized view of Latinos in the US (typical of UMC white liberals). For example, in Florida, most Latinos are middle class (not just the Cubans) and most of them don’t like illegal immigration anymore than anglos.

+ 1 million
This is what Dems refuse to accept. Immigrants who came here *legally* aren't interested in helping other immigrants come *illegally*. Seems to always be the white, woke crowd insisting we need to open our country to anyone and everyone, at any time and for any reason. Nope.

Literally no one is happy about illegal immigration, except for rich and UMC whites and the illegal immigrants who provide their cheap labor. Ironically, their presence contributes to unemployment among poorer Black Americans who have to compete with them for jobs. Google the Chicago bakery that hired several hundred, mostly Black, workers after getting busted by ICE.

Democrats got Trump elected mainly due to their doubling down on the wrong side of illegal immigration due to the tendency of their party leadership and media outlets to lump all Latinos together and assume that they would be grateful to them. The woke crowd still commonly assumes that all Latinos were deeply offended by Trump’s comments about Mexicans, as if all Latinos are Mexican. This is especially problematic in Florida, which has a huge Latino population that is mostly not Mexican.

LOL Literally the R farm owners are happy about illegal immigrants who work on their farms. Oh, and Trump's hotel use illegal immigrant labor. LOL

Would you please stop writing the word “literally” in every post. It’s an annoying tic.

Literally, I was mimicking the PP.

But would you leave a tip for the illegal immigrant working at those restaurants. That was the issue.

A PP stated that half the little ID town was inhabited by Hispanics. I'm betting that many are not here legally and work in restaurants and farms. So, those Trumpsters will happily be served by those people, but still want them to go back to where they came from. Would they leave tips knowing that some of the money was going into the pockets of illegal immigrants? Or would they not leave tips because they don't want to encourage illegal immigrants to come here? What a conundrum

I'm the first PP who responded to the tip question. Of course, I'd leave the same tip. GOP does not hate illegal immigrants, we just think they should come legally and that we cannot continue to have the influx we do without some control. You are very misguided if you think otherwise.
And, yes, the GOP and the Dems benefit from the cheap labor. That doesn't make it right.

That's what I stated.. read the bolded. Trump, however, did say "they are not sending over their best.. they are sending over rapists and murderers". Do you wonder if some of those illegal immigrants who are preparing your food are the ones Trump is talking about?

If you frequent establishments that hire illegal immigrant are you not encouraging illegal immigrants to come here? After all, for the most part, the only reason they come here is because someone is willing to hire them, people like Trump and the managers/owners of the restaurants and the farms.

I'm willing to bet that Goya also hires some illegal immigrants.

Spending money on things you never use to own the libz!!!

I bought ten cases of various products this morning and donated then to a food bank in Arlington. The volunteer
who helped me unload them said that they had been getting Goya products all morning.

I’m a lefty but the boycott is just dumb.

Stores often donate directly to AFAC. They’re dumping their Goya inventory so it doesn’t sit on the shelves.

That's ok.. it's probably helping to feed some of those illegal immigrants.

But the old Arlington Dems that volunteer at AFAC will have to reject the Gita donations. That’s why I took them to an Arlington Food bank that has volunteers who are grateful to feed people not to drive a political agenda. I wouldn’t given a penny or a rotten tomato to AFAC. The Dems have politicized it. There are many decent charities in Arlington to support.

You have absolutely zero knowledge of how the retail world, or the food production/ manufacturing world, or the food wholesaling world works. And it shows.

I don’t think being a fool would prevent someone from inheriting a billion dollar company. He should have known people would see him as a prop being used by a racist.

Why in the world would a store do that?

Sure, you don't hate them, that's why you just unnecessarily detain the children apart from their parents, causing permanent trauma.

Obama's invitation to youth didn't help.

It didn't do anything. It was 100% Trump's initiative to rip those immigrant families apart, for no other reason than to cause trauma, and conservatives support that. So does Goya.

See previous comment about poor kids eating like you. Same us for poor kids experiencing trauma as you might. There are no peanut allergies in refugee camps

The poster is exaggerating. Grocery stores donate nearly expired products to food banks.

I usually buy La Preferida since it's more Mexican inspired (and part of it's lineage). Goya has more offerings but I usually am more cost conscious and buy others. Goya has a different taste. not bad.
They do have a good philanthropy effort, but his praise seemed off to me. I think Goya wants some ethanol tax changes to help his business.
Considering that, I will give a 2nd thought before purchasing Goya.
I'll buy local if I can and purchase alternatives - there are many smaller companies that need support too.
If you buy for just political reasons and don't plan on using it, then find out what your local food pantry needs:

Prediction: Goya will have one of their best quarters ever.

There are different types of "fools". Trump is a fool and is POTUS, which has a bigger budget than Goya foods.

You think the people who chant “send them back” are going to start buying tons of beans and Mexican foods now?
