Yes, they do but if it makes you happy our principal treats the white kids differently and they get more severely punished than other kids. She also makes nasty comments about how they look. She had the nerve to tell me to get my child hair cut differently as she didn't like it. |
PP here. Your anecdata not withstanding, there is a large body of evidence that suggests that black kids are treated differently in schools--they are more harshly disciplined, are more likely to be punished for dress code violations, etc. Many black people I know (self included) make sure that are children are on their very best behavior at school. I've had to tell my 8yo that she can't do or say certain things that she sees her non-black friends do in school with impunity. |
