Not ALL the kids. Some kids were at DA programs and left in favor of Barca. Those parents are as happy with the program as other levels. And that's an interesting put down to imply they only "appear to have gotten better". There are better and worse teams. I have seen some amazing talent at Barca, and some not as talented. Don't misunderstand me either. I'm not saying players should or shouldn't leave or join DA, Barca, or anything. But sometimes a DA or ECNL club has the benefit of a greater talent pool and isn't necessarily a good organization. Pages and pages of posts have been filled with criticisms of those programs too. |
I totally agree with you. I would just hope Barca as well as any other travel club would do the right thing by any truly elite player they may come upon and direct them to the right program to help them become the best they can be. And I didn't mean it as a put down but when you have mostly B & C team players all together the best become that clubs A team. Where as that group of kids were B or C team level at their old club. Its not because the got better all of the sudden they just became the best available in that clubs player pool making them that clubs A team. |
Yup, keep asking people 600 miles away about coaches at your Tennessee club. |
Your post is fair in some senses. Honestly, I don't know what the program would be. That's my personal opinion. When I look at the programs in DMV, there are no stand outs where I'm like wow, if you can get in there, that's such a great program. And my thoughts on improvement aren't because of something instantaneous. I agree that would be suspect if that were the case. True development is gradual over time and I am referring to where my son was at at the start of last fall versus where he is at now. The Barca talent experience right now remains team dependent. Some teams are excellent, and those teams are in better EDP divisions and higher tournament brackets. I do think we have a dearth of goalkeepers, which hurts some teams' results. But as for directing, other than DAs and ECNLs, everything else is the same. And for parents with those kids, who doesn't know there are DA and ECNL options? Just because a kid can go that route doesn't mean they want to, especially if they are unhappy with the coaching. |
If you are not at a club you have no idea what promises are made. I know of no club that offers any promises. Again, put your dislike of a pro club in the proper context of a youth club. |
You are mentally ill! I couldn’t care less about Barca or la liga. |

They have many different levels. My kids’ teams do have kids that were on A teams (including one of my own), and a few that were on Club DA teams prior. My older one’s team had some amazing new talent arrive this year.
The player pool given how tiny it is compared to just about any other area club (where teams 1-2, and even 3 are similar) isn’t as deep. Location is a huge problem. But, the coaching and training sessions are fantastic. To me- seriously the most important factor. No comparison. But how the hell is a Nashville thread turning into a “bash Barca” thread yet again....sigh. |
Attacking a soccer club, worrying about promises made or not made that you know nothing about is very normal. |
+1. |
| Yet another thread seeded to roll in the advertising wing of Barca NOVA. Lol. It never ends. |
Point on the doll where Barca touched you. |
so perfect
|
I don’t get it. Are you insinuating that there is child abuse going on at Barca? |
No, he was making fun of how people overreact toward Barca as if Barca has somehow done something to them. Pretty witty |
In my mind, Barca's cost is a much bigger problem than their location. They need to think hard about lowering the cost significantly if they want to improve the quality of their talent pool. |
