STA's program is on the rise due to Colin Heeter recruiting efforts with Next Level Club program.

Prior to Colin arriving on the staff, STA had hardly done any type of recruiting / outreach with the area club programs.

He is also a better coach than Hyland and it shows.

Gawd I really hope you're not a STA parent. I generally do not engage on these boards but this post got me going.

Agree that having the next level connection helps. But not in the way you suggest. More STA boys are involved in club lacrosse because of Heeter for sure. Before only a few boys did club, and they were for the VA clubs (VLC, Blackwolf, Madlax). Most STA boys do not live in VA, so that might explain the low numbers. Now, with the Heeter connection and Next Level in close-in Bethesda, more boys are playing club, which means they are playing in the fall and in the summer, so basically year round. So kids are getting better and better. But I know of no kids who were "recruited" from Next Level to play for STA. My son is a Next Level player and we know all of the STA-Next Level families and almost all the boys on varsity or JV started at STA in lower or middle school.

Totally disagree with your slam against Hyland. Hyland is the head coach. He's a quiet presence on the sidelines. That's Heeter who is doing all of the yelling. Two different styles. From what I observe, they are a perfect complement to each other on the field and off. STA is 7-0. Heeter has not been even in the sidelines for most of these games because he had to be on leave. Total team effort by the boys. Total team effort by all of the coaches.

Hey, Hoss, so classy of you to be assailing a person’s job performance on an anonymous public forum. I would love it if these lax coaches talked about, second guessed, and often excoriated on these forums could show up at your job, watch you perform, and post about all of your shortcomings you pasty desk jockey, you. I guess around these parts, at least, private school lacrosse coaches are public figures, subject of much debate, and thus fair game. Doesn’t make the stench of it all any less pungent.

Heeter listed as varsity head coach on STA website - looks like he pushed Hyland right out. Take over Next Level, check. Take over STA, check, check.

Nice try. Heeter filled in for Hyland who was dealing with a health issue. Hyland is back coaching - the info on the website is inaccurate. NL has a lot of Heights and some STA kids, but those are not exactly huge talent pools.

Get a life.

Hmmm, not exactly on the NL rosters

2020 = 2 STA and 0 Heights
2021 = 5 STA and Heights
2022 = 3 Heights and 0 STA

Kind of kills credibility on the head coach info. Let's see if someone with better knowledge will confirm or deny who the head coach is. My understanding is Hyland's health concerns were enough to step down from being the head coach and Heeter was an interim who might now be considered more of a long term choice. But he's stretched pretty thin with his duties at NL.

God, you are stupid. NL has youth teams BELOW HS, and they have more NL and STA kids on those rosters. Hyland is the current STA coach. Just shut up.

Nice try attacking when the evidence says you are wrong. So I'll pile on more by saying my kid plays on 27's and not a single STA or Heights kid. That's 10 kids out of around 80. I guess the rest of the teams are stacked with Heights and STA. How much farther do you want to go before you admit you are a wrong. It's okay and it won't hurt.

Is this Cabell Maddox posting again trying to attack Next Level. Or are you a student posting during lunch. Either way, you are an ass.

This is right. In the youth teams, there are way more Landon, K-8 Catholic, MoCo public school kids than anything else. STA and Heights isn't feeding NL and NL doesn't really serve as a feeder for them. There is some overlap, but this isn't like a Club Blue/GP situation.

LOL. Club Blue is Exhibit A for the proposition that the club lax scene is so fickle and that Daddy Ball truly is poisonous.

You totally misread his post. A previous poster said NL was loading up on STA kids. Then he said that NL has kind of a pipeline to Heights and STA, but neither are great feeders.

So he wasn't arguing with you. Learn how to read.

Are you dense? Here's the quote: " NL has a lot of Heights and some STA kids, but those are not exactly huge talent pools."

then a poster replied and refuted with evidence. Then you attempt to say really he was talking about NL feeding the Heights and STA and neither are great feeders. No kidding because it's not true.

Your attempt to disguise your ridiculous misstatement only shows how immature or dumb you really are.
