Blending in is a form of terrorism. You never know who might hate you.

Separate but related note: isn't Stephen Miller Jewish?

Also....how could a Jew be a White Nationalist? Don't they hate Jews?

There's some psychology theory somewhere about joining and even leading a threatening group as a security method. Hitler is rumored to have been Jewish.

Gangs, terrorist groups, cults - recruitment preys on those who are isolated, ostracized, emotionally weak, seeking membership, etc. There's probably some ritual that must be performed to show that you hate Jews and - yipppee, you're in!

You probably get extra clout in the Brotherhood of Losers for demonstrating self-hatred. No greater proof that you belong.

Sorry, still doesn't make sense. A Jew wants to show that he hates Jews, so he joins a hate group against Jews (among others). I think that's quite a stretch.

I'm Jewish, btw.

Jew here. It's not just a bit of a stretch, it's totally twisted. In the interviews I've seen/heard by white supremacists in Charlottesville. While there is some really nasty things said about Jews, there is also talk of the problems of illegal immigration, black on black crime, backed up by statistics etc, while liberal protesters scream 'racist','homophobe', etc without any real fact. You can also see this mentality at rallies, where a conservative will try to speak with the protesters in a rational fashion, and the protesters can't articulate their views in any rational manner.

Hitler sounded rational to the people, which is why he was so successful in getting them on board with his hate. There are no Jews 'on board' with Neo-Nazis though - what we are seeing here is Neo-Nazis looking more intelligent and rational than a lot of the vocal liberals, which means that liberalism is losing it's grip. You see this displayed in the twisting here, trying to prove that Jews are the aggressors. You know what follows. Further proof that Hitler was actually far-left in his thinking....

PP has it wrong. He did no such thing.
This is his statement (posted upthread):

"In some of our intern pictures, I emulated the OK sign the President sometimes makes," he said. "That was foolish. I should have listened more closely to the Commander-in-Chief and given the thumbs up. I'm proud of my Jewish heritage and strongly reject the hateful views associated with racist white power organizations. I would never make common cause with them."

Yes. And what we see here in this thread, in trying to "prove" the Jew making the OK sign is actually sympathetic to Neo-Nazi groups, is a form of antisemitism itself, as it is trying to drive hatred and suspicion of Jews. We even had a poster on another thread saying that Jews could well have been part of the Neo-Nazis in Charlottesville as part of some "plan." I myself have been accused of being a Neo-Nazi for supporting Trump - and that's a pretty low blow to level on a Jew. And of course, all this comes from the far-left.

Yes. And the PPP who has just lied about the intern's intention is an example of the antisemitism I am talking about. From what I've observed, there are more antisemites on the left than in the right, and they are far more insidious.

Dumb kid probably did it because he saw everyone around him doing it (and meaning it).

Uh, when you have this premise, everything else falls apart because, full stop, neo-nazi's and anything that comes close to given them any credence is plain wrong. I don't care about statistics or articulation. If one is walking around with swaztika flags and tattoos and want to eradicate anyone non-white Christians, either by deportation or literal extermination, then I am not interested in anything they have to say.

Period.

“Twisted” is definitely the word that I’d apply to this attempt to sound “rational.”

I feel like I just got a peek at some hate group’s indoctrination material.

In other words: the intern didn't know he was flashing a white power sign. He was copying Trump. Does Trump know what he's doing when he makes that sign?

If I had to guess, Trump (and the intern who is too dumb to know better) did this because they think it's a good way to troll people who hate them anyway and will immediately go, "OMG THEY ARE FLASHING THE WHITE POWER SIGN!!!". See also: Jr's use of Pepe the Frog on Twitter. Meanwhile, some of their supporters, who are not in on the joke but are truly racist, will see it and donate money.

Why protest this so much?

He made a sign, it's obvious, and it matches that which other known hate group members have made.

It's no surprise and unlikely he'll suffer any repercussions, so why do you creeps care about it being discussed here?

And, I guess all the liberals who use tiki torches for their summer backyard parties are totally unaware that they are aligning themselves with white supremacists. Do they even know what they are doing?

(I hate it when people “appropriate” a harmless sign or item - AOK - and then assume that anyone who uses that sign or item is somehow “stained” as a result.)

It's all about context. If you were going to protest something tomorrow and decided to bring tiki torches, what kind of message do you think you'd send?
