Great! Congrats!!

Auburn's acceptance rate is 81%. How could someone not get in?

What a needlessly mean-spirited and foolish comment to make.

well I didn't say "why would anyone want to go there anyway?"

Well that sounds better and doesn't make you sound like an asshole but you probably already know you are an asshole. You are probably the same poster who fears her DD will turn into an asshole.

Hey, that's a feat compared to American U!

Such a joke. I'd love to see someone sue over Questbridge as unlawful discrimination based on race.

And so the Sidwell admissions bragging thread has begun. How do I know? The over-emphasizing of Stanford specifically, and under-emphasis on - by not specifically naming them - the more general "elite SLAC colleges." For Sidwell families, if it isn't HPSY, then it is not important enough to detail. Your student was probably admitted to Stanford.

I read it as GDS, frankly. They have a thing about being in the Top Three or whatever.

We actually know a white girl who got into questbridge. Household income was zero and dad was in jail. But here's the kicker: Dad's a CEO who embezzled from his company so he's in a fancy white collar jail and they live in a nice house in a good neighborhood.
I guess you can game every system.

Respectfully, I do not believe this. From the QB site:

Students with divorced or separated parents must report the income of both biological parents, as non-custodial parent information is taken into consideration by our partners when determining financial need. The only exception is when the student has not had contact with the non-custodial parent for an extended period of time.

All assets held by the family are taken into consideration, including:

Home ownership
Business or farm ownership
Cash and savings
Investments
Additional properties

This has been an urban legend spread around college internet sites for at least 10 years.

My daughter just got into a school with an acceptance rate of 75% and I'm absolutely over the moon! She's not a great student, certainly not as great as your children are, but she works hard and she's proud of herself. I'm sad for your children that you wouldn't be proud of that as well, too bad they didn't get a more understanding parent.

Most crappy colleges are de facto open door. They go from 100% acceptance rate to 75% by rejecting idiots that literally barely graduated, didn't graduate and by agreements with the nearest big inner city district to do face to face admissions.

Your daughter is actually lucky to be raised by a normal person and not the striving failures here.

Heard of 3 Amherst ED deferrals. 1 acceptance. Athletic recruit.
