Why are the British so rude?

Nailed it.

When you're a competitive man driving around in a mini and a hummer cuts you off ... Your dick shrinks 3 inches.

Actually, you just nailed why they hate us. Despite all our internal flaws, Americans walk around thinking we are "the best" which basically means we think we are better than everyone else. Given the opioid epidemic, our inability to elect an adult in the White House, Nazi's openly marching in our streets, issues of police brutality that always make international news..., our arrogance doesn't go over well.

Have you ever been to Britain? The British walk around thinking they're the best. There are also very, very serious issues in Britain- don't forget that's where skinheads started. You sound like a very uneducated, gullible fool

I lived there for two years, and have visited numerous times since. There are issues in Britain and other European countries, but I think we as Americans take the cake on widely and loudly expressing our arrogance. I'm all for being proud. Being arrogant, not so much. The PP's post was arrogant. I'm also surprised to see people on DCUM calling other people rude since, in just this thread alone, people have called others "dumb," "stupid," "very uneducated, gullible fool" all for expressing an opinion that differs from theirs. And we're worried about the Brits being rude.

NP. Your last two sentences are just so hilariously ironic and unselfaware.

Hahah I would take this any day.

An armed populace is a polite populace .

Yes. Look at Texas.

It's funny that you wandered into a thread about Brits being rude, and yet dismiss any discussion of that as "they have issues" but want to go HAM about how obnoxious Americans are. And THEN when someone reacts to it, they're being rude. The most unproductive, idiotic, circular logic I've ever seen. You seem like a country bumpkin who went to Britain and now considers themselves "cultured" but is still an uneducated idiot

Europeans are generally far more xenophobic and hostile to immigrants than Americans could ever imagine. When immigrants complain about the US, I advise them to try UK.

Yep. Lil ol teenager me was shocked when I visited Europe for the first time and someone asked me why I was hanging out with a black person

Eastern European here, who lived in 3 European countries and visited many other countries. So true, my mom told me she will disown me if I dated, married, had anything to do with a black guy. She doesn't even pretend to be accepting and mask it. She doesn't know any black, Asian, etc.. people. My BIL is so racist, that my kids don't want to talk to him and tell me that he is stupid and ignorant. I don't think he ever met a black person. In Norway, they will cross the street if they see a black person coming towards them and warned me not to go shopping in "Chinese district," (it is literary half of one street and a few stores in alleys around) as I will be in danger. This was said by an educated white Norwegian couple who had kids at a private school I was teaching at. Europeans like to act like they are not racist, but isn't that easy if you never met a person of another ethnicity. And not only that, Germans hate Turkish and Eastern Europeans, English hate just about everybody, French hate the Spanish, Croats hate Serbs(even though they speak the same language, they fought against each other in several wars). Heck, Croats burned Nikola Tesla's house twice because he was an ethnic Serb, but now they claim he was a Croat... Polish hate Russians, all hate Gypsies, all hate Bulgarians, but even Bulgarians hate themselves, on and on it goes....

Ha-ha-ha, I live in the South, and my E. European mom was shocked we were not planning to move when DS was born. To raise a child with so many minorities around? OMG. Come to think of it, her hatred of the South is akin to that of the DCUM liberal crowd!

When I lived in the south I saw hardly any racism. DCUMers are just nuts and out of touch. Also saw WAY more interracial relationships there than I EVER saw anywhere else

Are you white? White people arent allowed to comment in whether racism exists because how would you know?!

I lived in NC. People were totally racist and bigoted towards Jews. It was appalling.

No I'm not. But your statements are absurd on every level.

Lots of allies were unhappy with Obama (Eastern Europe, Middle East, etc.), so not everyone is sad to see him go. Trump is an improvement for many (Poland, Japan, Jordan, Israel). Of course the U.K., France and Germany are bummed. The US President no longer sees them as equals. They are just part of the #resist movement. But what have we actually done to our Western European allies? We've told them that we don't want to continue going into debt to subsidize their welfare states as we bear the burden of their defense. Cry me a river.

We do not want him visiting UK! Please keep him to yourselves, you are the Ines who have elected him, we do not want him here.

This is plain stupid. I guess utter stupidity may come off as rudeness in some contexts

Why is it stupid? They don't want someone who openly brags about sexually assaulting women, openly supports white supremacists and is basically vulgar visiting their country. I'm not sure why that's stupid. Americans call anyone who dares to disagree with them stupid. Grow up. People can disagree with you without being stupid.

This gets SO old. Please provide the quote where Trump supported white supremacy. His quote said that there were "good people on both sides of the demonstration." There were in fact, people who were going to protest the removal of historic statues. This does not make them white supremacists nor does it make Trump a white supremacist.

Lynchings and KKK

That's all you need to say really - long term established torture of minorities.

Sure, I might agree, but you need to look at what Europeans did to Jews, then you might rethink it. And I am not talking about WWII only. Go back to ancient history. Plus all those KKK people came from where originally?

Yes that is a horrible truth. The Jews were persecuted for centuries. But since we've had "The Rights of Man" and 20th century turned a corner, there have been KKK and lynchings and murders. Its only comparable to the Middle East and parts of Africa which have faced genocide. Not Europe.

Read "The Savage Continent" by Keith Lowe about post-war Europe. But Europe does not have any monopoly on evil. Really, everyone who romanticizes minorities while vilifying white people have no knowledge of world history or even current events. Slavery (or forced labor under a different name like courvee, m'eta, serfdom, etc.) occurred throughout the world. Yes, we had colonialism, but this is no different than any other "empire" throughout history (Persia, China, Mongols, Rome, Islamic Caliphate and various New World "kingdoms"). The strong have always conquered the weak. There continue to be ethnic atrocities in many parts of the world (India, China, Africa). The difference in Europe and largely European countries (US, Australia, Canada) is that they benefited from the Enlightenment, which allows us to examine our culture, criticize it, recognize mistakes and attempt to rectify them. So for those who think they are superior, read a few books!

Agree. When people talk about ripping down Confederate monuments or hating on the founding fathers, I always think about Genghis Khan. Literally 1 in 200 people on this planet are descended from him, 16 million people. He killed 10% of the world's population at the time, about 40 million people. So when people are demanding reparations or talking about how people need to make amends for their ancestors- well, it's so ludicrous. The vast majority of people are related to someone who did awful things. Guess what? That's the nature of humanity. To act otherwise is actually to prop up white people and Americans into some position of unnatural responsibility and almost betterness which is certainly not the case. Everyone is equally human and equally capable of committing atrocities.

I don't think you understand social darwinism, unless your comment was intended as a compliment.

Applying this type of sh1t to today's context: "The strong have always conquered the weak."
