+1 Never criticize another host. It is awful decorum. |
Not by me. |
What a cool website! Thanks for sharing. And I noticed they sell bulk packs in sets of 25! |
Where do you store all this stuff? No space in my DC rowhouse. |
Forget about storage -- how do you fit 50 people in your house? People would have to be eating on blankets on the floor if I had that many people over. |
Easy peasy! I could fit 50 people with only 8 1/3 people standing in every room. ![]() |
She's not criticizing her host. She's going with the flow around them, and is lamenting a bit on an anonymous e-mail forum. THEY are exercizing awful decorum by now allowing her to start any new traditions or adding anything of herself to their celebration. She is a new member of their family, and they are not growing and being inclusive...they are expecting her to simply fall in line and be "assimilated." |
Meant to say "Internet forum," not "e-mail forum." |
Agreed. And also - how rude of her ILs not to include PP's parents, who live with PP! |
Oh, I didn't even notice that they don't invite her parents when her parents LIVE with her! That is truly shocking. Yeah, no need to worry about "awful decorum" with those ILs. Truly terrible. |
Haven't read other posts. Plastic disposable plates from dollar store. Thanksgiving on paper plates sounds soggy and somewhat tacky unless you are inviting the homeless. |
It's terribly bad manners to criticize people and call them names like you did here. |
+1 It is ONE DAY. Big efforts=big rewards. |
I personally would use disposable plates, but if your heart is set on real ones there's always party rentals places. |
I wouldn't find it offensive as a guest for dinner, you may have to keep other things casual as well so the dinner plates do not stand out.
Who the heck wants to rinse and wash 25 plates?? You should be able to host as well as enjoy your guests at the same time. |
