McCain, Boehner, and McConnell need to go |
Watch the video. Obama knows he was not welcome. I didn't do that. He did. |
You forgot to use the race card, what gives? Surely its needed here. Why did the White House feel the need to phone Diane Feinstein and apologize? Was her outrage hypocritical? White House apologizes to Senate Intelligence By Alexander Bolton The White House has apologized to Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) for failing to alert her in advance of a decision to release Taliban commanders from Guantanamo Bay. Feinstein told reporters that she received a call from Deputy National Security Adviser Tony Blinken on Monday evening apologizing for what the administration is calling an “oversight.” |
You need to read the transcript more thoroughly. McCain said he was against the idea of negotiations back in 2012 because they were proposing “five really hard-core Taliban leaders.” Then, went on to say "Now this idea is for an exchange of prisoners for our American fighting man.” The way I am reading this is that this “second” proposal was different. Not the five hard-core leaders that actually were exchanged. His statement regarding the swap: “I have been informed that, in exchange for Sgt. Bergdahl’s release, the Administration is now in the process of transferring five Taliban detainees from Guantanamo to Qatar. These particular individuals are hardened terrorists who have the blood of Americans and countless Afghans on their hands. I am eager to learn what precise steps are being taken to ensure that these vicious and violent Taliban extremists never return to the fight against the United States and our partners or engage in any activities that can threaten the prospects for peace and security in Afghanistan. The American people, and our Afghan partners, deserve nothing less.” He does not support this exchange. And, just for the record, it is NOT just the right wing that is questioning the legality or the wisdom of this deal. |
Wonder if the developing story about Bergdahl leaving a note renouncing his US citizenship is true... |
I was all for this in the beginning but what I'm hearing now is making me uneasy. Looking forward to some clarity. |
My guess? They will debrief him and magically, he will be declared brainwashed, etc. wait for it. There will be no clarity, just more of the same |
No. I read just fine. I posted the transcript above. McCain was against it when when it was proposed as a "confidence-building measure". But, now that they are being traded for Bergdahl, he supports it. I know that you are not committed to facts and are quite happy to spread false information, but the truth is above in black and white. I even bolded the important parts. Pretty funny that you choose to read words that are not there while ignoring what is plainly obvious. But, you do have a history of inventing your own facts. You are correct that McCain has changed his tune. Just like the rest of the Republicans, he is a hypocrite. |
^^ Seems to me as if you will go to most any length to support Obama, regardless of the idiotic decisions he makes.
I still do not agree with you. |
Soldier imprisoned in Mexico: Why Won't Obama Save Him?! Obama Returns Prisoner in Afghanistan: What Was Obama Thinking?! |
And, in addition - McCain said he would be inclined to support it BUT he would have to know the details. Unfortunately, this president did not give him the courtesy of knowing the details since he refused to inform Congress 30 days in advance. Kind of hard to support something you know nothing about. |
Jeff, is there a sock puppet on this thread? I feel like the anti-Obama guy is just posting over and over and over again, all the comments are the same "flavor" so to speak. |
There are multiple anti-Obama posters and most of them have a tendency to post multiple times. But, they are not sock puppeting. They just are not taking enough time to gather their thoughts before posting. |
I won't spread false information which I then stand by even when it is shown to be untrue. That is not a limitation that you accept when it comes to attacking Obama. So, while I may go to great lengths to support Obama, I will not go as far as you will to oppose him. |
Since he was opposed to the five then, I would suppose he would be opposed to those now. |
