Mariah Carey does not equate to beauty.

She used to be much more beautiful, before she hit the surgeon's office. Then there's Halle Berry, Barack Obama, Bruno Mars, Alicia Keys, Alia Shawkat, Shakira, Keanu Reeves, Olivia Munn, the Rock, Norah Jones, Alexis Bledel, Lisa Bonet, Vin Diesel, Ne-Yo, Jessica Alba, Rashida Jones, Drake, Paula Patton, Stacey Dash... off the top of my head

Your examples are all people who are celebrities or are on television. I could list all the white, black, and asian tv and movie stars, and would that somehow prove that all white, black, and asian people are physically beautiful?

Genetic diversity = healthier people. Healthier people = more attractive people. This isn't really disputable. There are certainly exceptions, but on the greater whole, being biracial/multiracial is a very good thing - looks, and otherwise.

You sound ignorant and weirdly obsessed. I'm guessing you have mixed children.

So what is your non-ignorant, non-obsessed opinion on the matter? Not the PP, you quoted, BTW.

This is sort of really stretching it, pp. Race is a social construct more than anything, and does not account for much in terms of genetics. It feels like you are fetishizing multiracial people more than anything.

Yes, race is a social construct. But there are reasons why you're not supposed to marry your cousin (or even 3rd cousin). Genetic diversity is a proven evolutionary benefit. I'm mixed, so I certainly may be a bit biased - but there's no arguing those facts (and yes, there are occasionally exceptions to the rule). It's simple science.

How in the hell would having mixed children make someone "ignorant?" FYI I am mixed myself, and have a mixed partner.

Anyway, you're entitled to your preferences. The general consensus is that he's a pretty damn attractive man, and that biracial people - those with greater genetic diversity - make for healthier, more attractive people on the whole. You can't argue with science!

Was not arguing baldness (my DH is bald!), but the fact that he's ugly. There's nothing "symmetrical" about his looks.

He looks perfectly symmetrical to me - not sure what you're talking about. Again, you're in the minority if you think he's not a good looking man.

Really? That's a pretty big assumption. Who are all the women who find him a heartthrob? He has a nickname of "turtle" for a reason.

Try using the internet sometimes.

So prove me wrong. Is marrying your relatives a good thing? Keeping the gene pool small is beneficial, in exactly what way?

There is a difference between biracial and multiple-racial, and you seem to have thrown in the whole kitchen kabootal (sic). Some on your list are really questionable. And, you seem to go for people in a career where beauty is required. I could counter you with a list of beauties from their profession who are not bi or multiple-racial, so your list is ridiculous. Think about some ordinary folks in professions where beauty is not the number one or two pre-requisite for the job, and then come back. I like Barack a lot, but he has extremely large erckle ears. Diesel, yuck. NE-yo, double yuck. I also noticed you don't have fugly Tiger Woods on that list of celebrities, but in his profession, looks are not required.

Hmmm, who said it does? Those two statements are completely independent of each other (Hint: The period separating the sentences is your clue). Stop being so damn defensive!

Personal preferences are a bit different than overall impression. All of the above are generally considered very attractive, though of course not everyone is going to agree with every assessment.

Genetic diversity is not quite that simple. You seem to have a lot of time to sit around and insist that mixed race people are superior over and over again. It's kind of weird that it's so important to you, but I don't have time to give you a biology lesson. If feeling that way makes you happy, who am I to argue with you.

I'm not disputing that genetic diversity is a positive. I find the "on the greater whole, being biracial/multiracial is a very good thing" ignorant. You seem to be confused about how one may get some diversity in their gene pool.

PP, you are officially on the train to crazytown. You are actually arguing with more than 1 poster, and we have noted that you seem really confused about what genetic diversity means. Please calm down.
