I am clueless about Opus Dei and what it means so can someone post a link to a credible, objective website where I can read about Opus Dei?

thanks

Opus Dei is a cult. It is an ultra-conservative offshoot of the Catholic church. People of Praise is similar. Women are second-class citizens. Leaving the order is extremely difficult. A few scandals in last few years. Sex abuse in Spain, US, and few other countries. Originated in Spain.

Yeah Amy Coney Barrett is really oppressed. Thanks for your stereotypes!

Why do posts about this school always devolve into the same boring conversation. Haters gotta hate! Take it to the religion forum!

When your school (or your Catholic prelature) is being criticized by people who think they can change a boy into a girl by cutting his testicles off and pumping him full of female hormones, you know you’re doing the right thing.

Her law degree, body of work and status as a Supreme Court justice say otherwise. But keep throwing out stereotypes.

She only got to Supreme Court bc Trump and McConnell knew how to push her through the Senate. It’s not bc she's brilliant. Not trying to be partisan bc I do think others on the Court are brilliant like Roberts.

Haha...totally not partisan at all. The people you agree with are brilliant and the ones you don't are partisan hacks.

We are considering applying to The Heights for our son, who is currently enrolled in a Catholic elementary school. We know two families with sons who attend, and they rave about the school. But we have also spoken to others who say it reeks of elitism. Would a boy coming from a middle class family fit in there?

No elitism at all. Not waspy. It's ultra conservative and Opus Dei. People choose the school for old fashioned catholic values.

We know many families there. All absolutely love it. Appx half of those that we know come from modest means and make sacrifices to send their boys there. It was extremely competitive to get in this year - FYI. Start early.

Thanks for your response. We are very conservative Catholics, not Opus Dei.
