DP and SMDH. It’s just easier to say you’re pro-corporation and anti-labor. Why make up inane hypotheticals?! You need to admit that you’re okay with multiple members of one family becoming billionaires while its employees must rely on public welfare to survive. Honestly it’s just easier that way and less embarrassing for you. |
It’s not hard to see why you’re single. |
Who is more important to the company, front line workers or shareholders? Why should taxpayers have to subsidize businesses who should pay a living wage? |
|
Anyone arguing that FT workers shouldn’t have employer-provided healthcare is a ghoul.
Anyone arguing that Walmart is fine fine when it consistently under-employs people to prevent paying them healthcare and sick days and family leave is a ghoul. Anyone arguing that people who have too many kids, so they shouldn’t be guaranteed full-time work that includes healthcare and sick leave and even (gasp!) union membership is a ghoul. |
There's no taxpayer subsidy. WM pays taxes. It pays market rates for labor at all levels, like other businesses. Employees worth minimum wage receive that. Employees worth more get more. Why should anyone be paid more than the market says they're worth? If they're so valuable, surely somebody would pay them accordingly? WM is hardly unique in that dynamic - there are plenty of low-paid occupations which employ people with limited skills/capabilities. I'd like to be paid more, but achieving that is on me, not on my employer. |
And yet you won’t answer the basic question. |
The premise that it is up to businesses to pay everyone, no matter their skill level, a wage that affords an apartment and their kids’s daycare and their entire family’s healthcare, is false. The taxpayers aren’t subsidizing a business. They are subsidizing low skilled individuals. |
| Bing says in Northern Virginia, a single adult needs to earn about 65k per year to cover basic living expenses. That’s about $31 per hour. Let’s suppose we make a law that says to employers that they must pay at least that to every employee. What do you think the effects will be? |
So I guess you don’t support single payer then. |
Answer my question first, then I will answer yours. |
Who needs a man when I can support myself?? |
You want to die on the hill of employer sponsored healthcare? Why would you want to give employers an incentive to avoid hiring unhealthy people or people with families? |
You can knock down your own strawman, sweetheart. |
She’s being subsidized by the taxpayers to raise her spawn she irresponsibly had without securing a two parent household. |
Welfare is the taxpayer subsidy, moron. I guess they didn’t go over that in your online coding bootcamp. Too bad you didn’t bother to pay attention back when you went to taxpayer funded high school. |
