I struggle with DNF, as I often will get things out of books I don't enjoy reading. I try to get through them if they're not superficial mass-market garbage. I posted above about Strange Houses, which I thought was terrible . . . but at least the author tried to be creative, and the book is as short as it is dull and unsatisfying. |
Terrible, dull, and unsatisfying. What did you get out of it? |
+1 What's the point? Reading is for enjoying the book not suffering through it. You don't get a metal for suffering. |

I’m reading this right now too. I’m learning so much about things like stock, the Federal Reserve, etc, that I didn’t know I didn’t fully understand. Really interesting. |
It was only ok for me (I listened to the audiobook). Totally unbelievable in terms of how kids that age would express their feelings and I do think it was super schmaltzy, but not the worst thing I’ve read either. |
| Just got Best Offer Wins on Kindle from the library. |
| I just finished the Heir Apparent by Rebecca Armitage. It's a barely veiled take on the Princess Diana/Prince Charles saga, except they have boy/girl twins, and tragedy strikes when they are young adults. It's fun and escapist, and was a break from the last few books I read, which were more literary. |

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow
Loving it! |
| Ghost Boy. Just started it and it's incredible. Who's read it? |
Is this a Macbeth thing? |
Do you mean the actual narrator? It's funny because I love her but I can't stand Julia Whelan, who is super popular. To each their own. |
| Just finished "Daughters of the Bamboo Grove" by Barbara Demick, and have been recommending it to everyone. |
| Just read the Strangers, Belle Burden book which was both gripping and annoying. |
