In most cases, yes. But sometimes interims have paneled and for whatever reason, DCPS decides to name them as interim. In the case of Walls and J-R, no panels were held. For Walls that's because the school community is "special". For J-R, it's because the decision to appoint Dr. Brown to the Instructional Supt. role was so late. |
So certain schools get longer to decide their leadership while others don’t? That’s weird. |
Hearst Principal will be back for a second year. Our daughter just had 5th grade promotion and in our seven years at Hearst we had 3 principals! Hopefully it will be a few years before they have to panel again. It's a wonderful school that would benefit from some post pandemic consistency finally. |
More like fishy—it’s more likely that it’s because someone high ranking in the central office wants to place someone there—see Walls 2026-2027. |
Not fake news. Just got the email. He’s out |
| He will be missed…. |
| Any news on who the new principal for Murch will be? |
Carrie Broquard or Kim Adutwum would be great for Murch. |
| They’ll be naming an interim later in the summer. |
| Carrie Broquard? Dear God, NO!!!! Don’t know the other one. |
Yes I assume the person wanted the job. But will they have to “apply” again next year to make it permanent? Or is it basically a work around and this is the new principal not just interim? |
Sometimes the interim is a good fit and the school community advocates for them to stay without a panel. Sometimes - because of how the person does in the interim role, the politics of the school community, or leaders Central wants considered for the school that weren't available at the time of the opening - a panel happens. At the end of the day, the Chancellor makes the decision of who will be offered a principal position. |
Kim Adutwum should not be a principal anywhere. Period. I hope DCPS got rid of her. |
Pretty sure it was someone trying to be cute. |
| Is Broquard already out at Miner? |
