No interims do not panel.  They are placed there by central office.  They will have to panel next year for the permanent job.

In most cases, yes. But sometimes interims have paneled and for whatever reason, DCPS decides to name them as interim. In the case of Walls and J-R, no panels were held. For Walls that's because the school community is "special". For J-R, it's because the decision to appoint Dr. Brown to the Instructional Supt. role was so late.[/quote]

Yes I assume the person wanted the job.  But will they have to “apply” again next year to make it permanent? Or is it basically a work around and this is the new principal not just interim?[/quote]
