Vandy - yes. Duke - no. Both great schools but Duke isn’t called the University of New Jersey at Durham for nothing. It’s nothing like an SEC school. It’s just Duke.

Agree…Duke does not have a SEC cultural environment. It is heavily NOay white Christian Southerners (northeast and CA heavily represented, lots of Asian kids and Jewish kids) and frankly many of the Southerners on paper are not very stereotypically Southern kids…they’re like the kids of someone who moved their family from the NE to North Carolina to work at Bank of America or at a hospital.

The urban areas in North Carolina have became more “northern” in the last couple of years. The State is doing incredibly well which has attracted outsiders. Charlotte is never ending Apartment construction due to all of the growth.

yep. Won't be long until all of the counties north of Wake become blue.

This makes me so sad. I grew up in North Carolina. It's a totally different place than when I was a kid. Yankees can celebrate all the changes, but it's crushing to a lot of people that grew up there. Of course, I don't speak for everyone.

Yankees? Okay, Miss O'Hara.

Yes, Southerners still call people from the North Yankees, and it's not a compliment.

That's all you've got when you're former traitors who lost the war.

That. Right there. That’s what’s wrong.

This and live in the right zip code, kids attend the right school, belong to the right club = status for grown adults today. It’s not that different here in the DMV.

The people who are doing the most for rush at southern schools with the flashiest stuff are not old money people, lol. They’re people who are desperate to give their kids the experience they never had and didn’t go to college but made it big in owning car dealerships or local construction companies.

They’re not that far off. It matters greatly what zip code you grew up in, what schools and camps you attended, in what clubs your family belongs, where you summer, etc. Sure, anyone can get into lower ranked sorority, but even the good ones in VA share many similarities with the top houses in the South.

Most of the outfit cost is jewelry. Maybe they’re borrowing from mom, but at least they can wear their love bracelets for years to come.

I don't know how much love there's going to be for the love bracelets. Google the tariff rate on goods from Switzerland right now.
