This isn’t about Achilles being the wrong club for their players, it’s about Achilles not being up to MLS Next Tier 1 quality

The only reason I even initially challenged the Achilles parent (or is it a coach??) on their victory over RBNY is they were posting winning one particular game as proof their club is not part of what this thread was about, the watering down of MLS Next. When the facts of even that game are known, it's the exact proof that Achilles is watering down MLS Next. Maybe we should differentiate between Tiers 1 and 2. Achilles most definitely should be moved to Tier 2. If the one driving force behind the value of MLS Next is the ability to play the academies regularly, then the academies begin to bail on multiple games because there is no real competition, than what good is MLS Next?

WV should be NCSL. Achilles, PA Classics, probably a few others should be Tier 2. Arlington, Richmond, VDA would fit in well with Tier 1 and immediately improve MLS Next. But we have to be real about some of these clubs or else MLS Next will definitely get watered down to just another league.

“We” have to be real? Get a life.

They beat The New York Red Bulls 3-2 a month ago.

because RBNY didn't want to travel to play them, so they sent a second team from a lower age

They beat The NY Red Bulls 3-2.

Spin it any way you like.

Okay, here’s another spin. Did Achilles play their 3-4 bio-band 2010s with their 2011s against the 2012 RBNYs?? lol

Spin it any way you like. Achilles won 3-2.

Sooo, yes. lol

Achilles best two teams this year: West Virginia and RBNY. Okay. Lol

Red Bulls only lost to two teams. And Achilles was one of them.

You do know you're bragging about a 2011 beating a 2012?

No bragging. just facts. how did your son's team do vs. NYRB?

The facts are that NYRB didn't take Achilles seriously enough to bring their 2011s so they brought a team a year younger

I'm just looking at the schedule. I see a win for Achilles. And here's how you know I'm not bragging. My son doesn't play for Achilles. My son's team lost to Red Bulls. Twice. Congrats Achilles 2011s. Nice win vs. Red Bulls this seaon.

So you're trying to ignore the fact that Achilles 2011s squeezed out a 3:2 win versus a 2012 team with Achilles using three 2010's?

I'm just enjoying that anything positive about Achilles hurts you so much.

A win is a win. And I don't know whether any of things you say are true or how you think you know them. It would take you having a pretty extensive knowledge of the rosters of two teams you're not a part of.

I see a U14 win by Achilles against New York Red Bulls. Fact. Kudos to those kids.

So yes, you're ignoring the facts and just looking at the result 😂

Those aren't "facts" my friend. The score is a fact. The other things are just things you're saying. You're laughing emoji doesn't hide your sadness.

The NYRB 2012's didn't play the Achilles 2011s is your sworn testimony?
Achilles doesn't have 3 biobanded 2010's on their 2011s is also your testimony under oath?

Oh my. How long before you switch to "the coaches are abusive"? I have no idea. I know the score. And, I know you have an unhealthy obsession. How do you know the ages of the kids on the two teams?

Again, the fact is, Achilles U14 team beat the NYRB U14 team 3-2 on April 6th, 2025.

Again, the fact is, Achilles U14 with older biobanded kids beat the NYRB U13 team 3-2 on April 6th, 2025

Then lost their next four games 0:6 and 1:9 and 1:5 and 0:8

Again, the ages of the kids are not facts. Tt is merely your speculation based on scores, I assume. There's no way for you to know the players' ages. The fact is, you're on an anonymous message board trying to drag down a club and the kids that play for it, and you've done it over years. Does it make you feel better? 3-2 Achilles.

Seems they're going after you and your white lies, not the kids

I'm not sure how anything I've said could be considered a lie. Achilles U14 beat Red Bulls U14 3-2. I do NOT know the ages of the kids. My son doesn't play for either team. Same with the poster who hates Achilles. I'm also not bragging. As if that's even possible on an anonymous message board. I'm wondering why Achilles hater thinks he does know the ages of the kids and why he cares so much.

The lie is, Achilles U14 beat the Red Bulls U14s

That's what it says on the schedule.

The schedule also says the NYRB U13 beat Achilles U13 when it was in fact the Red Bulls U12's

You think anyone dumb enough is buying what you're selling that Philly Union and DC United U14's plus every one else destroyed Achilles but Achilles beat NYRB?

Beat them 3-2 according to MLS. Doesn’t say anything about a different age group. Looks like you are making all of this up.

Don’t forget to step back and realize the troll is bashing 14 year old kids. If your son knew you were doing this, what would he think?

So I “checks notes” checked the tournament website. They’re in the second division!! And you know why they even made it into that? Because RBNY, Philadelphia Union, FC Delco, and Real NJ decided not to attend. Again, not a commentary on whether the players should be at the club and they should enjoy the tournament. But the facts keep proving the same point over and over.

I mean this is gaslighting at its finest.

They are in the U13 MLSNext playoffs. Spin it however you like. The more important question is what drives an adult to obsess over 13 year old boys?

Correction: Quarterfinals!

How did Achilles do?
And I already saw the comments that they were chosen because New York, Delco, and other better teams chose not to attend, but why were they chosen over Bethesda? Is it because Bethesda had a strong presence in the tournament in other brackets and Achilles didn’t? Is it all a quality of play ranking thing or more to it?

Selected based on QoP. Not speaking for other teams. Won Round of 32. Won Round of 16. Fell in the quarterfinals.

Pretty solid! Kudos Achilles.
