Wait until the science comes out explaining that blowing out your neurotransmitters is a terrible idea!

This is the new stupidity.

There are so many more mocktails marketed now. Some restaurants have a half page of NA drinks and I think it's great. It allows the patron to feel like they are having something special, or more interesting than water, and shows that the restaurant cares about the customers who aren't looking for alcohol.

If someone said, "I have to have a piece of cake after work to wind down everyday," no one would think that was normal. Why is it "normal" if it's a glass of wine or a beer?

My spouse doesn't snore like a freight train anymore. He only drinks occasionally now and he no longer keeps me awake.

When my kid was in rec sports a long time ago, there would be a parent or two who would show up with a sneaky container of wine and the parents would all drink.....at an 8 year old's soccer game. That's weird. Why did we do that? That's really not normal.

In my 40s, drunk people are embarassing.

Gross. No need to drink at a kids soccer game. How insecure!
It’s like all those boozers at Halloween. When did Halloween become a time where parents openly drank and walked around with their kids? Disgusting. I never did it but still see it now that my kids are teens.

I think people say and do things like this all the time, and no one gives them shit.

Nobody buys non-alcoholic beers at bars.

Family and hubby's fam owns 4 bars in 3 states and each has a couple .X ABV beers in bottles and they usually last for years and have to be thrown out.

My issue with the mocktails is how much sugar they have. I have been “pre-diabetic” my entire life and have had to watch added sweeteners the whole time. I end up ordering a seltzer with a splash of pineapple and a splash of cranberry with a squeeze of lime. A little sweetness, but it isn’t overpowering. I wish they could come up with a few that were interesting without sugar.

On the topic of cake everyday, my grandmother had a chocolate after dinner every night and it was normal. She was able to have a box of chocolates in her house and eat just one each day until only the coconut ones were left.

If there is anything positive about consuming alcohol, I have yet to hear it.

Gen Z is leading the charge in sobriety from alcohol: I know many members of this cohort and they’re alcohol-neutral at best. The data supports this.

I think it’s great! Alcohol is a poison, very expensive both in financial outlay and the time spent being drunk/hungover.

I’m also seeing a lot more people be California sober

Do you know how many relationships got their start with a little social lubrication?!

I just can’t drink much at all anymore at age 45. Literally feel like crap. Hormonal?

This is totally changing. Stock decent ones like Athletics and they will sell. Also, put them on the menu! So annoying when you have to ask and then the NA beer is like ODouls.

And lots of cocaine and other substances

Anyway this thread is just more propaganda for the Gilead movement same as the divorce and SAHM threads and the aggressive traditional masculinity posts it's all connected.

Do you have any idea how much those "Gilead types" drink?! Half the trump administration is a DUI hire. No, there's no push for sobriety from that angle. If anything, they want people drunk and stupid so they're less likely to fight back.
