Springbrook HS Staff Letter

Families are immigrants, the working poor, working multiple jobs, unfamiliar with their rights as MCPS families. After Beidleman I am so so mad on these teachers' and students' behalf.

Having worked in MCPS a long time, I have noticed that principals of color often get a pass from CO on bad behavior.

CO might be called racist otherwise.

6 new jobs posted for SHS. 2 leadership roles. Start of a mass exodus?

I think we’ll really see things pick up in April. I just hope hiring principals know about Valentine’s reputation enough to take whatever she says with a grain of salt. She’s going to do whatever she can to sabotage efforts of those who want to leave because a mass exodus also reflects poorly on her.

I feel like they will usually try to see if the Principal can settle this at the school level before they step in. I’m pretty sure it’s beyond solving at this point, but they have to go through the chain of command. I’m imagining that ILT will just be blaming and excuses. Don’t give up SB staff. Keep advocating until changes happen.

Donna RJ came to this afternoon's ILT meeting.

Tell us more. What did she say?

Let me guess - politician responses avoiding the question at all cost answers while using as many buzz words as she possibly can?

Bingo. All involved clearly rehearsed their responses. No apology was ever made. “She’s only human,” they said.

No surprise there!

Sounds like another cover up.

I have never seen an organization full of people with a pathetic victim complex more than the leadership class of MCPS.

Yeah...those pathetic victims. We victims should leave toxic situations

She's only human. A toxic toxic human.

We have no other place to go. MCPS is not willing to help. The letter does not even address the issues and concerns with the special education department. This situation is way worse than I thought.

Sounds like possible lawsuits. Report it now.

What is happening with special education? Is this concern impacting students or special education staff?

Anonymous wrote:I have no affiliation with Springbrook HS but everything mentioned in the letter seems so minor. It is as if the principals before were very relaxed and then she comes in and puts rules and practices in place. Observations are a given, it does not matter how many times a year. You can have one every day…. I don’t understand how teachers hate her and then expect a glowing reference from her when they try to leave. Nicknames to students is not unheard of and unless a child stated it made them uncomfortable, then it’s not a big deal. I was expecting her to call people crackers and the n word as a nickname. Transfer out teachers. There is a teacher shortage.
