Some people can be. In aggregate, high SAT people are more successful and low SAT people are less successful. On average and especially on the margins.

Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, high SAT, high LSAT. Successful presidents.

Joe Biden, low SAT, low LSAT. Unsuccessful president.


Biden was a successful president.

Trump was passed through the system based on money and look where that is getting us.

While some are a joke, it isn't a joke that there are high school students who are running student newspapers, winning robotics and debate tournaments, chess tournaments etc.

I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with the system - if there was a way to limit the number of schools someone could apply to it would make everyone's life easier - there are so many applications from students who will never attend that it just complicates the process.
