January 2025 - what are you reading?

I just finished "The Mothers" by Brit Bennett, who also wrote "The Vanishing Half".
The mothers was good. Kind of hard to explain what the book was about. Basically it was about the members of a black congregation in San Diego over the course of many years. Downloaded from Libby/

To whoever recommended the Potato Peel Pie society book - THANK YOU! Love it. Exactly the book I need right now.

I’m reading Playworld by Adam Ross. At first I wasn’t sure about it since I was really questioning some of the characters’ motivations, but now I’m enjoying it. It’s a coming of age story set in 1980s NYC, and the author did a wonderful job depicting the time and place. One note - the jacket copy is somewhat misleading and makes the book sound like it’s entirely about something that is, in reality, just one of many storylines.

I am the person who read this book earlier this month. A couple other posters also chimed in that they read the book previously and liked it.
Glad you are enjoying it!
