Going into the grocery store to shop becoming a class signal?

I saw Chuck Todd grocery showing with his wife yesterday in a Harris Teeter. So not really.

Not for me, I am extremely particular about fresh produce and I know they are not going to pick out what I want. If anything,I just think it's laziness on the kart of the lazy American it people.

oh yeah well I go into the grocery store to shop while wearing my Ivy League sweatshirt for maximum high-class behavior!

I’m a sahp and prefer to do my own shopping. I do a lot of shopping at ethnic grocery stores, select the freshest produce and food, undented cans, find bargains.

There are more productive uses of time than wasting 1.5 to 2 hours door to door grabbing the same grocery items once a week. And grocery delivery is basically free, so it’s silly not to use it.

Isn’t he technically a retiree?

I stopped going in 2020 because of covid. Got used to delivery. Do go to WF because shoppers never get the right stuff.

It seems all young people under 30 are addicted to fast food, restaurant, and grocery delivery.

My last few visits to grocery stores it looks like all retirees shopping, plus a handful of singles using the salad and hot bars. The aisles are filled with solo workers collecting orders. It seems like parents my age, whether they're actually wealthy and super busy ( ) or merely want to give that impression, exclusively do home delivery or drive-up pickup. Even the upper middle income SAHMs I know who have plenty of free time during the day do at-home delivery or drive-up pickup for groceries. Is grocery shopping in-person becoming lower class and/or elderly retirees thing?

It's almost like status-conscious people don't want to be seen grocery shopping because of the perception it gives that they're not wealthy or have too much free time. At least that's kind of what it feels like after Covid.

OP, you are truly an idiot.

I prefer to have as much delivered as I can. There is no need for me to do menial things like grocery shop at WF when I can have my staff do it.

Where is this amazing town with empty grocery stores? I'm in NOVA and hate crowds at my stores.

You're a very inefficient shopper if it takes you 1.5-2 hours to shop.

I will say I do order sometimes and it’s only like…$10 more than just buying it in the store.

I prefer doing my own shopping. I feel like it’s more of a status symbol personally.

Or the opposite, they go for fresh organic non-xyz ingredient stuff.

It's not free. There's the uncharged on each item and 15-20% tip.
