It's just because they are old and weak and can't navigate the aisles or drive safely |
Guess I hit a nerve, lazy bones. Get off the internet and do something. |
You enjoy buying the same specific fruits, veggies, milk, proteins, etc. every week? Sounds like you live a real decadent and thrilling life.
|
| I’m solidly middle class. I am busy and have two little kids so I mainly get delivery. I also go to local farms or farm stands. I’d love to take the time to actually shop myself but I just don’t have the energy most weeks. |
| I like grocery shopping too 😂 but I’m a snob and particular about the produce and brands I select. I also like to pick my own protein. I go to multiple markets, including the farmers market. |
Yes, people do. Get a life. |
It’s called optimized productivity. |
Not everyone eats the same boring things every week. Some people actually enjoy cooking and trying new things. |
| No, it's not a class signal. It's just people who do or don't like shopping in person (whether because they don't like to cook or have a medical issue or whatever). And, people who want to save time. Most of the people I know who get groceries delivered have a pretty set grocery list from week to week and so don't care as much about picking their own food. |
DP, and you sound like a spoiled, jaded ass. Do you have any idea what a privilege, a luxury, it is to be able to have "the same" fruits, veggies, milk, proteins, etc every week, so regularly that you don't even think of it as a privilege, it's just a chore? You probably think you're rich because you can do "decadent and thrilling" things, like waste money and time, but you're probably hollow, and shallow af. Being able to enjoy the simple things is real luxury. You don't have it. |
| Seriously you have too much time on your hands |
|
That's insanely high! But I guess... Even though they are incredibly annoying with their cart full of brown bags and their phone out, if a shopper is doing two orders at once and they don't check out in front of me, and then they deliver to two different addresses, I guess that is more efficient than two of the lazy dummies coming in themselves. And I read that they online ordering people get the prices listed there. Even if discounts ring up at the register. |
DP. I also enjoy it. I am a lawyer and it a lot more fun than that. |
|
I have everything delievered. I take no joy in going to an American supermarket or most "farmers" markets in this area. All the same bland overpriced produce.
Lucky for us, we have acerage and a wonderful garden and greenhouse that provides for us most of the year, and our assistant and personal chef do the grocery ordering for what we cannot supply. |
