How to ace the HOPE

Anonymous
Well one of my friend moved within Fairfax during last summer and her child attended a new school starting second grade. The child received horrible HOPE rating with four NEVERs with good (not spectacular) NNAT/COGAT/Iready scores. She's appealing based on the reason that the child was adapting to a new environment thus not expressing talented behaviors. (given that the rating was done in Nov.)

The lesson is, think twice about moving after 1st grade!

Depends. School committee's opinion weighs most.
