What rabbit holes have you fallen into recently?

I have to admit, when I get lazy & do not want to clean my house (usually too tired from work 🥱), I turn on Hoarders + after an entire episode - I immediately began cleaning up my space.

I know, I know….. I am a weirdo but it truly inspires…..motivates me to clean my house!!

This is the main reason why I have NEVER doled out a cent toward celebrity beauty products.
Because I am positive that any celebrity who has millions in the bank would never ever be caught dead using their own skin, hair and cosmetic products (unless for a photo shoot of course!)


Maybe I’m naïve but I truly do believe that Scarlett Johansson uses her own products! She just seems like she wouldn’t bullshit about something like that.

Total rabbit hole, as I just needed something to zone out to while wfh.

Fwiw I’ve found that I prefer brown noise the most.

YouTube and those video suggestions will take you down the craziest rabbit holes. I once looked up beach videos for a town I wanted to visit.

That lead to me watching underwater camera videos.

Next thing I know I’m watching something about a pet named Leon the Lobster, which I became totally fascinated by. Look him up, beware the rabbit hole this will take you down.

But I must say I do enjoy the YouTube rabbit holes. Reddit and DCUM also lead me on the weirdest rabbit holes too.

+1 on weird obsession with watching so-called “sovereign citizen” you tube videos where they refuse to show their ID at random “illegal” checkpoints.

And prob because I watched those it led to other videos of “conspiracy theories on why the media is pushing phrases such as “protect our democracy” or “threatens our democracy” when we were, in fact, founded as a REPUBLIC and not a “democracy”—and we pledge allegiance to the REPUBLIC. (And I never have much thought to the distinction before I saw this.)

And finally, there is a tangential rabbit hole about categorizing US citizens who believe that our rights come from God (rather than from the government) as “Christian nationals”—-as though it’s some crazy right-wing but-job idealogy and not the foundation upon which the country was founded.
Super weird to see this framed in some “aren’t these a bunch of weirdos” language since the Declaration of Independence establishes this as the basis for our collective belief as Americans as to why we should break away from England
(“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness“).
It’s like a whole generation of Americans has been raised without the concept that our constitution was d structured so that the PEOPLE are telling government how it’s powers are LIMITED rather than the government giving permission to the people about how they can and can’t live their lives. And when I casually questioned my teens if they were familiar with this concept and how we were the First Nation to turn this upside down, they were stunned. It’s like they had never realized it before. So yeah—definitely a rabbit hole.
