You have absolutely no way of knowing this. Do you really think this diatribe makes you look intelligent? Quite the opposite in fact. |
But the thing is...that many people aren't choosing Tufts because they think the grad is better positioned than UVA grad. They are choosing it because the kid likes something ELSE about how they imagine "their time at Tufts" more than what they imagine their "time at UVA" will be(using your example)....whether that be location, size of school, size of classes or something else. |
$88k a yea; let’s break that down, college is only in session 8 months out of the year: so you would pay $11,000 per month when they’re in school which is approx $2,750 per week. The state of college tuition is NUTS.
I wouldn’t pay that unless it’s an IVY. Even then it’s just unconscionable |
You do you. I'm not judging you for it. Maybe not worry about what other people choose? |
My DC is heading to Duke in the Fall. Applied ED and got in. I had wanted DC to apply RD so we could compare cost, merit offers, etc. because Duke is so expensive. My DH, who is usually the one looking for the cheapest option, encouraged DC to apply ED. It is crazy expensive and I am not convinced the money is worth it. |
You sound like you don't have to worry about paying Tufts tuition, OP. |
Yes, please - not the persn you quoted but I would love ideas. Not huge state schools though a cople are fine. Seriously plese help! |
This is OP - my kid didn’t apply there or any Boston schools. She wanted a big state school so I was super lucky in that regard. She did apply to NYU for kicks but we told her we wouldn’t pay for it. |
Have you heard of Google? |
Don’t be a doucħe |
Not a fan of Tufts either, and do think it's overvalued. But that it's a target for most is laughable. Single digit acceptance rates = not a target for most. All the DCUM posters on other threads advising your kid with 1480 SAT/4.0 UW to be realistic and not bother applying to T50 and get comfortable with Drexel would disagree. |
Don’t be helpless!! |
I am not that PP but you realize they could miss things with their search? Sometimes people have more info about a particular school or have a knack for finding info on the internet. It doesn’t make the PP helpless. Not all of us have never asked for help in their entire lives like you apparently. Must be nice. |
Nothing with single digit acceptance rates is anything but a REACH for everyone (unless your parent is a former president). Anything with less than 20 % acceptance rates is a reach for everyone. |
LOL you smart guy don't even realize that you should get education free at all levels - and by the way, health insurance as well. signed, Europe |
