As much as I dislike Jackson, I would far prefer her over Gaskins, so I do not want to vote for Peterson and end up with Gaskins because I did not vote for Jackson.

What do you and any other PPs dislike about Harris, Bagley, and Huskey?

I was thinking of voting for Chapman, Bagley, Huskey, and possibly Harris — not because I like any of them particularly but because I dislike all of the others so immensely. It’s difficult to keep track of each candidate’s positions on every issue.

FWIW, I am pro ward system and anti-: Justin Wilson, arena/stadium, Duke Street in Motion, and Missing Middle/zoning changes.

I think Peterson has a good chance. There was a LONG Nextdoor post on this, with a lot of people saying the same about Jackson and Gaskins, and sayigng they plan to vote for the new guy.

Nextdoor is the ultimate echo chamber. People who spend too much time there are likely to be caught off guard when Peterson comes in third. I think a vote for Jackson may be more effective.

Jackson has made too many recent mistakes and whether it’s fair or not, people see her as a Wilson crew member. The city needs a fresh start. Peterson’s the answer.

He also says, if elected, he’ll take on the job full-time and donate his salary to the Alexandria Police Foundation.

fyi Peterson was opposed to the arena monstrosity from the beginning.

I don't love everything about the guy, but I sure as hell am not voting for Gaskins or Jackson. It's Peterson or a write-in for me.

I wouldn’t say he has a chance based on a Nextdoor thread where the loudest voices are.

He has no name recognition, missed the debate, and has had far less visibility during this campaign than the other two. I know he had an accident but he needs to be doing more than the others to get his message out, and instead he’s doing less. He’s toast.

Unfortunately he and Jackson will split the anti-arena, anti-Wilsonite vote and Gaskins will likely win handily.

This resolution has zero relevance to what local government is empowered to do for citizens. You prefer symbolism over substance.
