Terrible look for these schools. Need to fire their consultant meteorologists.

In the email yesterday Holton said they would reevaluate in the morning and send another email by 7 am. The closure email came in at 6:41 so they kept their word.

DP here. PP was merely pointing out Cathedral Schools had not yet closed.

What kind of immature weirdo are you that you have to import a clown emoji and use it multiple times to make your point?

Sure that’s what they were pointing out Cathedral schools say Hi? That’s how you point out. Don’t be crying because you look stupid. Typical close behavior. The true elite. 🤡😂. I hope you keep crying today.

So stupid. All the area public schools closed last night (DC, MD, Va). It was obvious at that point that schools should be closed. But do privates have to do this weird flex - we don’t follow publics? I still can’t believe they pay for their own meteorological consult

Yes, once all the close-in public systems closed, and OPM even closed the Federal Government (Instead of delay/liberal leave), then all the privates inside the beltway should have closed.

Teachers cannot be happy about such a late announcement. Some of them have long commutes

That’s terrible. Admin at most of these schools are so out of touch.

Our child attends one of the other schools listed and same, it started with two hour delay, and they promised a decision by 7:30 and let us know by 635. While I was initially annoyed last night that they didn’t just send out an email cancelling after DCPS/OPM, I realize if they did, they set a precedent parents will demand every time and that won’t always make sense in the situation. Next time will know they aren’t going to be sending a note out at 11 PM when they promised 7:30 AM. Yes, it would’ve been nice to know last night so we were not up early checking, but taking a step back, I can understand.

These are the ones who suffer. My kid (at one of the schools that cancelled at 6:45) has a teacher who lives beyond Baltimore.

Truly awful. Our head put in email to parents that not ALL members of the community could make it. That’s the way it should be done.

Agree. And it’s so much easier for families to be able to plan and make contingencies with notice the night before instead of morning of. There was no reason to wait until 7 am when temps were going to be below freezing all night.
