what is LA?

City in California.

yeah I know but it was raised in context of Arlington. What is LA in ARlington, VA?

There's a dive-ish bar on Columbia Pike called L.A. Bar & Grill and in that case it stands for Lower Arlington (South Arlington). But I've never seen LA used that way anywhere else.

We love MPSA. The building and facilities are not great, but my kids are getting a great education, are actually challenged at their level (unliked at my neighborhood school where we switched from), have wonderful teachers and although they use ipads, it seems to be less than friends at other schools.

The principal. She creates a terrible environment for teachers so most good ones end up leaving. And she doesn’t believe in academic excellence. Or any kind of excellence.

Oh interesting. I've lived in Arlington for decades, both south and north but have never heard that before.
