Will schools like Wake and Tulane fall in popularity as they fell in rankings?

It was a bit of a strange choice, as I was leaning towards liberal arts schools in PA (closer to home), but visiting during March Madness my senior year at the tail end of a particularly crummy winter in the NE made me certain of my choice. I got the acceptance and didn't look back.

Of course different people have different personal preferences, so good to have various options, but in general schools like NYU, BU, NEU are much more popular.

They are eager to learn a variety of world views before heading out to find their place in this great country of ours. That’s pretty much a comprehensive list of characteristics that sum up the Oberlin niche. Can’t think of anything else they are known for.

Meh. Not so much.

Not everyone wants to be in a city. Neither of my kids do/did and they are very different kids and want very different college experiences.

This thread would be much better without the crazy NE supporter constantly prattling about how “popular” it is.

Looks like a NEU hater injected it to the thread again.

Winston Salem has changed a lot since your time there. There are now a bunch of restaurants, bars, and breweries downtown that are frequented often by the students, in addition to the Wake downtown facilities— state of the art new medical school and research facilities. Best of both worlds with the beautiful suburban campus and the city amenities college kids care about 10 minutes away.

I have heard this - Haven’t really been back in quite a while. That’s great that Winston has changed. Of course, the school has gotten bigger, too.
