The lies
The lies The lies I see why the band director feels how he feels. I can only imagine what he’s going through! You people are monsters! I hope he hasn’t seen this. You all are worst than cyber bullies. |
| Lol, he's been posting on this thread for sure |
What lies? We are only hearing his version, not the other side of it and seeing his social media, much of which isn't appropriate. Or, are you this band director? |
| His social media is just that. HIS! The only thing I’ve seen is that he highlights students positively. If a parent felt uncomfortable with that I’m sure he’d be happy to not continue that. |
Yes uti do not post pictures of your students or post when you are teaching. |
Nothing has been posted that even appears to be a lie. Only snippets of the other side of the story, which the article entirely fails to mention. You immediately and repeatedly shooting down every one of these is pretty hard to miss and is a red flag. |
And, likely his defender who spoke out at the SB meeting last week during citizen participation. |
Is this a school policy or kids just being disrespectful? |
NP. I went there 20+ years ago. Students, teachers, and admin always used first names with one another. There was nothing disrespectful about it. |
Using first names with teachers and admin is part of the school culture there. Students at HB even have a say in the hiring and firing of teachers and admin. It’s an unusual public school. |
Whatever, start an HB thread if you want. There are immature teachers at other schools who don’t set boundaries and want to be called by their first names - but then get angry when they want to assert authority and find out they aren’t respected. |
They have a bad principal and that is not normal for students to call teachers and staff by their first names. It happens in private, not public. |
In private schools like GDS and public schools like HB and School Without Walls it’s all first name basis on purpose. If this goes on at Annandale with teachers and admin going by their first names, then the culture needs to change at that school. No regular public high school should allow that. It blurs the line between student and teacher in unacceptable ways. |
What similarly situated White band teachers were treated differently? Where are the complaints of the many other teachers claiming racism @ FCPS? |
