If uniforms are your hill to die on, that's your choice. I'm glad families get to make other choices. |
Forcing? So what about forcing kids to attend a school with disruptive gang members and teachers who push gender ideology. That to me is more problematic. |
Your kid must be very sheltered. 11 year olds, and people far under the age of consent, get pregnant (raped). |
We are all sinners - and the bible is clear that homosexuality is a sin. Telling lies is a sin, lust is a sin ect. There is nothing there that needs "reprogramming". Why would you send a child to a school that teaches the truth of the bible. Frankly what is more concerning should be schools where children are being taught that gender does not exist and a man can become a woman ect. Do you want your children to live in reality and live by an objective truth or in a made up false hood? The Bible is objective truth? Wow! |
| The secular privates around here are far more leftist than the publics when it comes to uniforms, gender, addressing teachers, race & sex. Especially GDS & Sidwell. |
|
Ok double gross. I guess he had to send them somewhere… Wish he homeschooled them!
The girls at our local Catholic school were know to be the most promiscuous by the way… |
Sure they were. Back in good old 1964. |
Well your kids are right to ask. |
DP: Clearly the anti-uniform PP is a student. |
As a parent, I force my child to: Eat vegetables Do their homework Go to bed at a reasonable hour Not watch R rated movies Write thank-you notes The list goes on. It’s a uniform, which may be the least important part of going to school. Kids are always going to be unwilling to do things. It’s my job as a parent to determine what is in their best interest and have them do it. In our case, that includes wearing a Catholic school uniform. I’m very happy with the education they are receiving. That’s what’s important. The uniform? Not a big deal at all. |
| Catholic school parent here. We’re leaving this year. Not worth the money for unqualified teachers and no discipline. Students with parents who are donors get away with bullying and bad behavior. School and Archdiocese do nothing about it. |
You just didn't fit in. That's ok...nice to have choices. |
Oh, we fit in. Three years as PTA president and 6 years as homeroom mom. DH volunteers as Athletic Director and coach. Since COVID, great teachers left and have been replaced with ones that aren’t certified. Some “teachers” are still in college and were offered jobs before receiving degree. The quality of education in our Catholic school has dropped significantly in the last 3 years. Parents spending money on tutors to make up for gaps. Many new students came to Catholic schools during pandemic. We see major discipline problems, but if you’re a financial donor, your DC gets a pass. We’re out. |
Well that sounds terrible. But are you going to a public school expecting discipline to be just and swift? Or an even pricier private school that won't cater to the big check writers as if such a place exists? The grass is always greener... |
You are better off finding another Catholic vs. going to public. Just an opinion based on knowing many who are still fleeing the chaos of public schools. |
