Honestly, Canada needs people - maybe we should lobby for asylum for any girl/women from ages of 9-50 on grounds states actively promoting femicide for those in child-bearing ages. |
At least one of my mother’s classmates went to Japan for her pre-Roe abortion; I think they wove it in with visiting a military family member on r&r from Vietnam. |
This seems rather defeatist. How about we put away the passports and take back our rights? |
Tell that to the ladies in ID. |
This. We should certainly take back our rights but I wouldn’t die or let my daughter die to prove a point about lack of access— Idaho is a border state and Canada (BC) has better access than several other neighbors. |
I would like women who have voted forced birth to be denied medical care elsewhere. They’ve made their decision and ignored every warning that was provided to them as to what this would mean for obstetric care for women who want to have children and they felt that punishing other women for sexual activity was more important. |
The most populous cities in Idaho are very lucky to be located close to the borders of Oregon and Washington. Those states have very strong protections to the right to abortion. My guess is folks in Idaho don’t learn their lesson because they have abortion access just a short drive away.
Meanwhile, healthcare in rural ID has always been sh#t. |
Yes, those people in ID who continue to vote for Rs are probably secretly thankful for being close to a blue state where women still have rights to their own bodies. But, they will continue to vote R because taxes and anti-wokeness, all while taking advantage of blue state policies. #hypocrites. |
Me too. I’m shocked that OBs don’t want to practice there. Just SHOCKED! /s LOL. I’m sure the pro-birthers expected this. What’s their plan now for who is going to fill these Ob’s place? I guess it’s about god’s will and so what if moms and babies die? It’s god’s will afterall that they should die! /s |
What if these clinics said, you know what, we’re busy and not taking out of state clients? What would it take to make that happen? |
Actually, for the right wingers I know, the third statement isn't sarcasm. I think that's their plan, and the men will just get to marry a brand new wife every time child birth or gyno problems kill the old wife. |
Elections matter and if we want to be in charge of our bodies then run for office and get out the vote. The last election was a shocker for the GOP. WOMEN were the key! |
Come on ladies!! |
Not gonna lie - I am actually quite happy to be finding options post-HS in Canada for my daughter. I can stay and fight, but I’m not messing around with her reproductive choices and bodily integrity |
Elections only matter to a point. Kansas voted overwhelmingly to maintain abortion access and the GOP is restricting it nonetheless. Other states are passing restrictions that specifically disallow ballot initiatives about abortion. None of this is timely for women in Idaho — who are in danger now— and suggesting that women are somehow responsible for fixing the work of four men and one woman somewhat misses the point. |
