Yes, we aspire to be just like Mexico.
Brilliant. |
I have no experience with most of your points in any other country, but I once had a small heart attack in Naples,Italy and was taken to a hospital, where I stayed for a week and a half before they decided I had rested and recovered enough to leave. In the first day or two, DW went hunting for the office that could tell her what the cost would be so she could arrange things with our insurance company. She finally found someone who knew enough English (or was patient enough with her limited Italian) to explain that it was a public hospital and there was no office to find because there are no charges at that hospital. For ANYONE. He said to her, with great surprise according to DW, "You mean they make you pay for treatment in America?" So, if we want to look elsewhere for models, I'll go with that one. It was not the greatest hospital I've ever been in, but they made sure I stayed alive. |
So what, you were in Italy where there is national health insurance as is the case in most European countries. This is not the case in the United States and, obviously, it is not the case in Mexico. |
Yeah, baby, that WAS the point. You (or someone else of similar mind) appeared to set Mexico up as a model for us. I said we ought to look to the civilized world instead. BTW, when Napoli is more civilized than we are, we've got a problem! |
Immigration laws of Mexico were posted so all the bleeding hearts can see that American immigration laws are not even remotely as strict as Mexico. Mexico is considered a 3rd-world country, genius, but that doesn't mean they aren't civilized as you appear to suggest. I'm for national healthcare in the US but I bet you would be first in line cruing and complaining about how high your taxes would be increased. |
You accidentally got it right, I'm a genius. But only in my own field, so it's pretty irrelevant here. in fact I'm pretty irrelevant here, except for those who dig ad hominem arguments. But since you mention it, I would not be crying about my taxes since I'm an old-fashioned tax and spend liberal. I.e., I think government should help those who need it, even if those with mucho dinero have to shell out their share. BTW, this is all irrelevant to the topic, but my buddy seems to enjoy it ----> ![]() |
Well, thank goodness, you "buddy" is having a good time. At least something good has come of out this. |
