You are making excuses. That's exactly what you're doing. There is no excuse. It's unacceptable. Point Blank.

Disagree. You disobey cops and when you run then you are partly responsible for what happens. It's not a 50/50 ownership but there is some or we are a lawless country. What did he would think would happen when he ran - a handshake, a high five? Did he deserve a beating? Absolutely not, but he could have laid down and surrendered like 99% of people do but he made a decision to roll the dice. What is an acceptable outcome from running from the police - let go with a citations, free to go on your own way because you were faster?

You are a stupid sack of shit. They were literally yelling conflicting orders at him and then beating him for not complying with both.

He ran - explain it. Sack of shit. Have you worked a job where a criminal ran from you?

Yes, I've worked with cops before, and they love to run away when you try to hold them accountable for their crimes.

You f’ing understand the laws then. It’s illegal to chase in certain situations and this was not a fleeing felon situation so the chase is even suspect.

Shouldn’t authorities know what (if anything) was in his system? Is it being hidden?

These cops would do very poorly in prison. Hopefully they will experience it for a very long time.

Right - if you were completely sober, would you comply or run away?

If cops pulled me from my car on a simple traffic stop and threw me on the ground and were yelling get on the ground while I was on the ground I would think I was about to be gang raped and beaten so I’d run

Big talk - but lies.

Dude you’re not doing LEOs any favors. Good cops hate cops like this and are glad to see them gone

Yeah, the cops were telling him to run and then they were telling him to actively resist.

In the Floyd case the officer on crowd control was also charged with the same offenses as the officers holding Floyd down.

I wonder if there will be any more charges for the cops who stood around and watched.

If I thought someone was trying to kill me? Yep, I'd run. You also don't always have a choice. Fight or flight is real and sometimes your body decides.

Someone is different than police. You would not run from police, if you say otherwise you are a liar.

May this death be the catalyst needed for more, better and longer police training that includes deescalation methods and building positive police culture.

Again, how did the whole thing start? At least two posters are now asking.
.

I don’t know. The news said it was a traffic stop. But there may have been another reason for the scorpion unit to go so violent so quickly.

Whatever the reason was, the police need more training on deescalation and appropriate level of force to do their tough jobs.

This was tragic and obviously excessive use of force even if he was a drug dealer or whatever. There was no evidence on the video he was reaching for a gun as the police claimed .they kept kicking and hitting him while he was handcuffed on the ground. It was clearly unnecessary use of lethal force.

The police are people, who sometimes murder people who look like me. If I thought a group of them intended to kill me, you think I *wouldn't* try to escape? You're a fool.

Exactly why I asked PP for evidence that he was clearly on something.

There is no mention of that. He does not appear drunk, high or incoherent. He looks panicked and scared as he asked why he was stopped and why he was pulled out.

Kids run from cops at drinking parties all the time. At white a$$ areas in Potomac MD. Coos can’t just chase and beat drunk kids.

The final autopsy results are not available yet, but those in charge absolutely know the toxicology results already. If nothing has leaked, it most likely means they didn’t find anything in his system.
