Who knows. All I know is that it’s illegal for a noncitizen to contribute to elections in DC but now it’s legal for them to vote. Doesn’t make a lot of sense and I’m sure that it’s not the last time this issue comes up.

Does DC really allow non citizens to vote? I aske this as a DC resident. I have also lived all over the world and I am attempting to recall any local that allowed non residents to vote.

I’ve also lived all over the world, and recall exactly zero countries that allow non-CITIZENS to vote.

Just as there are less than a handful of countries on Earth that give you citizenship just because you’ve been born on their soil.
Recently learned Argentina is one of them.

And I immediately must stand corrected. Apparently some countries, including Spain allow mere residents to vote, IF they are citizens of a country that allows a Spanish citizen to vote in theirs.
