Oh good grief. Legacy? 15% of the class. URMs? 27%. Can you add those together and tell the class what you get? |
False. The Harvard suit showed us that 43% of Harvard’s class is legacies, athletes or related to big donors |
First, the Harvard data showed 43% of WHITE admits were ALDC. Get your facts straight. Second, that misstated fact is complete irrelevant to the idiotic claim that only legacies and minorities are at Harvard. |
This racist school let in more than 50% of the students backdoor. This is a glorified country club |

+2 Nothing bad with country clubs, but they should update the motto to something like "Insane Fees to Make Insane Money" |
So don’t apply. It’s not like anyone is forcing you to do anything here. |
| Wow. This thread! I am a Harvard grad and it is t perfect by any means but it has among the most generous financial aid in the country. Admissions is still really hard for everyone. — a country club? Give me a beak. |
Exactly!!!! Why would dumb people apply to join my country club? Banish them all, those blue collar dummies. |
No, just you and your kids. |
| Think of it more as a social club. You’re either there because you’re smart or connect. The actual education is good but realistically not much better than any other top 50 university. The social club gets you into better positions. |
Again, bold part is not true for middle class people. It's a manufactred fantasy for the rich people in the social club. |
This is VERY true. Unfortunately, a not insignificant number of Harvard students can't gain acceptance to the "social club". |
This is true. I know quite a few who it has MAYBE helped professionally (the brand power impresses headhunters) but they don’t talk to anyone they went to college with. There is no Ivy network they’re tapping. If you’re dumb and/or financial aid, you’re going to be ostracized. Smart kids can tell you’re the “dummy” very quickly. |
