It was a joke based on the historical Mormon (BYU) practice of having multiple wives. How young are you folks? I see that the emphasis on rooting against foreign players is ok but make a joke about a made up religion and people are clueless or pretend cluelessness. Also, Howell should have been ejected I agree but what does that have to do with being American or foreign or her and Madril being the two best players on FSU? Nothing. |
If I was a moron I would find the “made up religion” very offense. You are saying their deeply held beliefs are less vs your beliefs. |
1. The fake religion you are referencing is Christianity of which Mormonism is a denomination. 2. Much like the Olympics or World Cup, I will always cheer and pull for my countrymen and women. It's called loyalty. I'm old enough to remember when this was a common sentiment. |
College sports are not like the olympics or world cup. In college sports, you root for your college, not your country. |
1. People may choose to cheer for whatever team they please for whatever reason the choose. 2. For me, if UVA or Tech was playing an out of state school, I would cheer for UVA or Tech even though I have mo allegiance to them. They represent my state. If a local HS team was playing in a State tournament vs a Richmond team....I would cheer for the local HS because they represent my area...my school district...whatever. 3. |
Did you go to FSU or did you merely jump on their bandwagon because of the success. |
Don't give a rat's ass about FSU, or BYU for that matter. But did met interesting international students in college including athletes. |
How riveting. |
| It can be. Try speaking with some international students instead of posting snarky useless comments like a putz. |
I'm sure internationals students have the same traits as everyone else. |
No they are better at soccer. |
Why are you sure of that? That sounds ridiculous. The point is to meet people from other countries with unique language and cultural traditions to expand your knowledge of the world. You could try getting out more. |
The team is the most successful in international women's soccer, winning four Women's World Cup titles (1991, 1999, 2015, and 2019), four Olympic gold medals (1996, 2004, 2008, and 2012), and eight CONCACAF Gold Cups. |
| FSU has hands down been the most consistently competitive team in college soccer over the past ten years. They play a great style of soccer and recruit skilled players who can play in that system. They were the better team but BYU played them well. People talk about FSU shutting down BYU but they fail to acknowledge BYU shit down FSU's attack. It was a close match. |
FSU had 9 to 10 players back for most of the game and took out the leading score in the NCAA with a dirty play. They played a defensive game. They saw what Santa Clara did and copied it. |
